3 Kids, 2 Parents, and 1 House Full of Love. Friday, December 23, 2011. Every year at Christmas, I make some type of edible treat to pass out to friends and family. I've done hot chocolate mixes, cookie mixes, and this year, I made Lemon Thyme Bread, using a recipe I got from the November issue of Taste of Home Magazine. My kitchen smelled so good when this was baking. 1/2 c butter, softened. 1/2 c sour cream. 1 3/4 c. flour. 2 Tbsp. minced fresh thyme. 1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel. 1/2 tsp. baking soda.

3 Kids, 2 Parents, and 1 House Full of Love. Monday, October 31, 2011. Yay for kids all decked out in adorable costumes! We did our traditional soup dinner before heading out to collect candy. Both sets of our parents came over, as did my brother, Andy, and Nathan's grandma. It was just the right amount of coolness to make trick-or-treating fun. Afterwards, the kids came in to sort their candy and enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. How did your evening turn out? Jacob with his pumpkin.

Today, we spent the afternoon with Nathan's extended family at his Aunt Karen's house. It is super crowded with lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members. We have been so happy with Kirkmont Preschool and are thankful for the loving women that have invested in Claire's life. One of Claire's preschool teachers, Mrs. Murray. Ben took this picture of Claire's snowman hanging from the ceiling. Claire LOVES doing crafts and they sure do a lot of crafts at preschool!

FINDING JOY IN LIFE'S EVERY DAY MOMENTS. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. We had the neat experience of watching several of the painted lady butterflies as they emerged from their cocoon. They stay on their cocoon in a vertical position for about two hours. We got to watch as they flapped their wings to dry them out. And to get blood pushed into their wings. It's really quite an amazing process and I highly recommend doing this with your children. We all learned so much! Claire released each of them by hand!

They had a lady nicknamed 'Ms. Rainbow' from Boonshoft Museum come and talk to the kids about, wait for it. RAINBOWS! She was a great lecturer and really held the kids' attention with the experiments she allowed them to take part in. It was fun to watch Claire and her classmates participating and excited about learning! The kids with their 3D glasses!
