Lost In Guinea: August 2008
http://africami.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 19, 2008. 27 days and counting. It's really a mixed bag of emotions, but largely, I'm getting very excited to go back. Tomorrow, all the trainees will head to Forecariah, as will Jen and I (she's off in the Fouta for her site visit). We're training until Sept. 6th or so, then headed back up to Boke to say goodbye, before leaving for a two week jaunt through Morocco. Oh man, oh man, I can't wait to eat a lamb, prune and almond tajine! Top 5 Things I Will NOT Miss. 1 Bush taxis, bush taxis,...

Lost In Guinea: I swear I had nothing to do with this...
http://africami.blogspot.com/2008/09/i-swear-i-had-nothing-to-do-with-this.html
Saturday, September 06, 2008. I swear I had nothing to do with this. Well, it appears that Guinea, and more specifically Boke, is turning into a transportation hub for drug traffickers from Colombia and Guinea-Bissau. They are finding new paths of least resistance for their drug routes to Europe, and Guinea is proving to have little resistance. Especially in Boke, where almost all the major authorities were involved. Read on. Guinea probes suspected drugs flights in mine zone. Fri 5 Sep 2008, 9:51 GMT.

Lost In Guinea: June 2008
http://africami.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. The Rest - Timbi, the Falls, and the trip back. On our journey back to Conakry we happen to pick up another volunteer, Liz. We will spend one night in Conakry to prepare for our trip to Timbi Medina, the location of Jen’s site. We went for pizza at the Beach Bar with some of the other PCV. Not bad pizza! Too bad there was no plumbing! Without idealizing my experience, it is my hope that I don’t forget to remember all that I have seen, lived and learned, and actually make an a...

Life After the Water Method: November 2007
http://intakeandoutput.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Life After the Water Method. Thursday, November 29. I have finished my Masters. Yesterday, I got an email from my favorite professor, George DeMartino, saying he had graded my "Substantial Research Paper" (SRP), and I had gotten an A! When I picked up the paper this morning, there was the following comment:. Nicely done. Beautifully writtten and well argued. You demonstrate the theoretical sophistication of a scholar AND the writing ease of a journalist - a rare combination indeed.". I am so happy!

Life After the Water Method: July 2007
http://intakeandoutput.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Life After the Water Method. Tuesday, July 31. I would like to propose a toast to those going back. Enjoy it for all of us. Tuesday, July 17. Ok, so I haven't posted in a long time. I wish I could say I have been away from computers or been too busy or been doing at least something! But I can't. Truth be told, I have been too boring to write anything. I work, I eat, I workout, I sleep. Occasionally, there is a movie, a new restaurant, a new friend, but it never seems worth a posting.
