I was just reading a blog post by someone who believes that ADHD is nothing more than kids behaving badly, that it can be cured with a good old spanking, and that it is a disorder made up by pharmaceutical companies! He also claimed that dyslexia, celiac, and fibromyalgia are creative inventions. I first skimmed to the bottom of the page looking for the punch line, then left the page because I could literally feel my blood pressure rising! I triple dog dare. Our kids literally try...

Thursday, December 23, 2010. Oh, the dreaded play date. My ADHD son can be quite a handful to say the least. Here at home everyone gets it. We all cut him slack when his meds have worn off, etc. But, I do nothing but worry when he is invited over to a friend's house for a play date. Oh, what are they going to think of my wild child? Wonderful mom invited FIVE BOYS over two days before Christmas. I happen to know also that of the six total boys, three of them have ADHD! I am so thankful for this mom today!

Sunday, November 28, 2010. A jumpsy rope. You remember, when we knotted all the rubber bands together to make the big stretchy jumpsy rope? The new trend with all the kids makes a great fidget! The kids collect them, so they seem to always have lots. The wear them, fiddle with them, and stretch them. This is another one that keeps their hands busy.
