I min barndom og ungdom var Rye sogn en del af Rye-Sonnerup kommune. I 1970 blev de tre hidtidige kommuner: Rye-Sonnerup, Hyllinge-Lyndby og Sæby-Gershøj, sammenlagte, og den nye kommune fik navnet: Bramsnæs.
