Before the awards the boys put on a short skit about some Tall Heros like Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed, and Pacos Bill. Mason's was about Casey Jones. His part was-. I am Casey Jones. I am an engineer. I stayed with my train to warn others. That it was going to crash. Funny part is, Mason had his part memorized but he still stuck his nose in the paper to read it. August 20, 2014. July 30- August 2. Jeremiah got off of work half a day on Friday. We were able to go to the fair grounds and see all the animals and entries all the community members have submitted. Seeing all the blue ribbons and awards, really made my kids excited to try and submit entries for next year! Brooklyn got an award for her art work she did last year in 4th grade. July 9, 2013. July 4, 2013. This year we went to Otis (15 min away) for the 4th of July fireworks! It was probably one of the best 4ths we've had while living here! We got there two hours before the fireworks started. We set up our chairs and blankets in a baseball field. It was so nice to watch kids play football or to toss the football around while waiting for it to get dark. Jer brought his fireman gear just in case they needed his help with something. August 20, 2014. My Little Corn Huskers! Jer bought a big box of sweet corn. I really needed to get on it before it went bad so I sent the kiddos outside to husk it! They did such a good job and were so fast I wasn't even about to get all my pots and things together to boil them in preparation for freezing! We love fresh corn on the cob! It was so awesome to be able to see them sealed for time and all eternity. The sealer was awesome! My mom was heartbroken. But if you ask me it turned out great! The water was pretty dang good too. She made an ice ring that had mint and thyme in it. It just very lightly flavored the water. Refreshing! Close up of the bassin.

Monday, October 24, 2011. Amigo Air Show 2011. This was the first Air show that we have ever been to, and we LOVED it! The kids had a ball. James's parents were here visiting so they got to come with us. I have to admit I thought it was going to be pretty boring just watching a bunch of boring ole planes, but I was wrong! My favorite part was watching the "Golden Knights". They are the army parachuters! The kids's favorite part ,other than the free food and candy, was getting to go into the army tanks!
