drawing allowed: Shropshire Open exhibition
http://drawingallowed.blogspot.com/2014/10/shropshire-open-exhibition.html
Sunday, 12 October 2014. Fiona has had two paintings accepted for the Shopshire Open exhibition in Gallery3. At the Gateway in Shrewsbury, showing 13th October to 17th November. Earlier this year we decided to take a risk and go public with our work by entering local and national competitions. It's been a hit-and-miss experience. Some but not all submissions have been accepted. We've found that working to the deadlines sharpens the thinking. All for the price of small hanging fee. Chris Carter - Artist.

printed material: January 2015
http://printedmaterial.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Ever since starting this blog I've thrown in the odd post about maps. I've always been a bit obsessed with them and know I'm not alone so it's great to keep finding artists who feel the same and find different ways to express their fascination. A couple of weeks ago I spent the weekend back home in the West Country and we caught the opening of an exhibition by Jeremy Gardiner. At the Victoria Art Gallery. Only a week or two earlier I came across the work of Barbara Macfarlane.

I am a contemporary visual artist, working as a landscape painter in West Cornwall. My practice is constantly evolving and my current focus is on the textural aspects of the landscape, and the way in which the paint itself contributes to the creative process. I completed an MA in Fine Art Contemporary Practice at University College Falmouth. In 2012, investigating the meaning of landscape and the process of painting. I am a member of the Oxford Art Society. I participated in Cornwall Open Studios.
