Friday, August 7, 2009. Jane’s brother, Janko, showed us around the town and introduced us to Slovakian Pivo. In the evening we were treated to some traditional accordion music played by Jane’s father. We couldn’t have asked for a better Slovakian experience and really wish that we were able to spend more time with them. Sunday, August 2, 2009. We had a couple of days in London meeting up with good friends and doing a few touristy things. We stopped in at the Tower of London, along with thousands of other people (the place was packed! And saw the 300-and-something carat diamonds that the queen owns. Monday, June 22, 2009. We've had a wonderful time in Evanston, but Dan graduated last week and now it is time to say goodbye to all the amazing friends we've made while we've been here. We are currently packing up our apartment for Sydney. Sunday, August 2, 2009. Just leaving France now, we’ve been staying with our friends Mel and Stefan in a place called Castelsagrat near Toulouse (southern france) and it’s been fantastic! The weather was amazing and we spent a lot of time working on our “lilo balancing ability” in the pool! After visiting France we are now obsessed with almond croissants (mmm), I think I ate 4 in two days, sorry no photos - they were gone to fast! There were fields and fields of sunflowers:. Saturday, August 23, 2008. San Juan del Sur. We are now at the beach in the pacific town of San Juan del Sur. We have gone upmarket in our accommodation and have a beach view, hot water and olympics on TV! Plus our hotel arranged to pick us up from the ferry so there was no fighting with bus drivers here - luxurious! Posted by Jess and Dan. The island tour also took us to a fantastic natural pool, which was a great relief from the heat and ended at a beach to watch the sun go down - wow - what a sunset!
