Arrow Rests: archery
http://archery.livejournal.com/90083.html
I just purchased a Genesis Pro bow and it did not come with a arrow rest, and I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should get. I'm just using the bow for run target practice, no hunting or competition. I'd like to spend as little as possible. I took a class where we used the Genesis (standard) bows but I cannot remember what kind or arrow rest they had. I know they weren't anything fancy, that's for sure. Can anyone help me out? Could I use one of the wire rests like this. Which it says is for a recurve)?

PREPARING A FIELD COURSE IS HARD WORK: archery
http://archery.livejournal.com/88784.html
PREPARING A FIELD COURSE IS HARD WORK. Sounds obvious really, but I never realised how hard until this week. Granted that hosting a championship for some 250 archers from 28 countries using 3 separate courses is a bigger challenge than usual, I can see now that each and every one of the tournaments I've shot at in the last 4 years will have taken a huge amount of work to stage. I'll not take it for granted in future! Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post.

FITA WORLD FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS COMPLETED: archery
http://archery.livejournal.com/89548.html
FITA WORLD FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS COMPLETED. Congratulations are due to all the winners, of course. Additionally, I think any archer or judge or volunteer or organiser who's been involved in proceedings this last week (not me: I did my bit the week before when it was drier) deserves a medal for perseverance above and beyond the call of reason. It's not normally this bad in Wales in September, honest! Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. Post a new comment.

CynicusEconomicus: What the Cyprus case tells us
http://cynicuseconomicus.blogspot.com/2013/03/what-cyprus-case-tells-us.html
Friday, March 22, 2013. What the Cyprus case tells us. In order to understand the current problems in Cyprus, it is first necessary to know how the mess arose in the first place. Reuters have a very good background article here. And I will use it extensively. The 'series of events' that led up to the crisis commences with Cyprus joining the Euro zone:. More striking was the bank's exposure to Greek debt. There is considerable more detail that could be added, such as the high returns offered by Cypriot ba...

FITA WORLD FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE: archery
http://archery.livejournal.com/88990.html
FITA WORLD FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE. It rained heavily all yesterday, and has rained most of today. The courses were absolutely sodden today, the first day of competitive shooting. The targets we put up last week are still there, but the paths have turned into streams or swamps, and the steps we made on the slopes are getting washed away as fast as they can be repaired. Here's a link to some photos, which give an idea of the terrain but don't really show the problem:. Post a new comment. Follow...

new bow!: archery
http://archery.livejournal.com/92134.html
It's been a long time since I last posted. Now I have news! My hubby bought a new bow from our quite famous Lajos Kassai. It's this one. The other bow we have is some sort of a simple, Hungarian-style bow for beginners, at least that's what we were told when we bought it. Hubby used to say he wanted a stronger one and bought the above mentioned. At 35#. Now it turns out our old bow is approx the same strength, but a good 6inches smaller then the new one.anyway. Hungarian) or this one. Post a new comment.
