Susan's Update: March 2012
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 31, 2012. Well, we've started. On Thursday the 29th we showed up at D-F on time at 8:15 am. However, we waited to be taken until 9 am. There were alot of people there for many different services. Susan drank her raspberry drinks [2] and had an IV put in for the CT contrast. This time they were extremely careful. Then she had a full-body CT scan. Then we went to the infusion area. The staff there gave us something to eat [hadn't eaten since previous evening]. The next infusion is set for A...

Susan's Update: January 2012
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 13, 2012. When I was in treatment, the technicians would ask how my day was going. My answer would always be "peaceful". Peaceful" meant the meds were working, there were no problems to manage, things were cool,. There are scans in my future, but I'm not looking that far ahead. For now life is peaceful and that's fine by me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jen's Pan Mass Challenge Blog. Jen's Pan Mass Challenge Donation Page.

Susan's Update: March 2011
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 7, 2011. To everything there is a season.". I'm at the point where I am repeating myself. My scans haven't changed in over three years - everything stable with no evidence of metastases. My blood work is normal. There are no new treatments to talk about. My office visits are shorter as is my list of questions. At some point I will have my port removed, but I'm not ready to do that yet. So long for now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Susan's Update: October 2010
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Yesterday marked another event. It was the first visit with my new oncologist. Most of you know that my previous one had retired, leaving me with some very uncomfortable choices. Do I stay with the practice? Do I search for a new oncologist elsewhere? So here's to celebrating a new stage (no pun intended) of my life. I'll end this entry with a picture of Gerry and me celebrating at Jen's wedding, and with the hope that everyone who reads this blog has something to celebrate.

Susan's Update: June 2012
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 14, 2012. It is with much sadness to report that Susan's battle with cancer ended. She passed away, at home, surrounded by family, on Friday June 1st. She fought valiantly throughout her entire battle, maintaining grace and dignity through all that was thrown at her. This blog was a great way for her vent her thoughts, concerns, complaints, and triumphs - everything from being nervous and annoyed by the prospects of treatment to being eager and excited for the next bridge to cross.

Susan's Update: Ups and Downs
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2012/04/ups-and-downs.html
Monday, April 23, 2012. Where to begin …? Last Tuesday, Susan fell in her bathroom. Thank goodness she was not hurt, but was terribly frightened and very annoyed. I got her up and called the doctor, because to be quite honest I was scared silly. I found myself in a position where I had no idea how to deal with the situation. They don’t mess around here at Life Care. When I arrived yesterday [Sunday] she was already in therapy. She had PT and ST. Today she had PT and a visit from the OT ...I'm sitting wit...

Susan's Update: August 2011
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. The Good and the Bad. Cancer provides a constant reminder that in an instant things can change for the better or the worse. Gerry and I experienced that fact last week. Now comes the good news. She pulled up the results of my MRI. The two small lesions had practically disappeared. The larger one on the motor strip had shrunk appreciably. The radiation was a complete success! The seizure was a fluke. What wonderful news. Saturday, August 6, 2011. A Time to Heal. We went to the ...

Susan's Update: June 2011
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 27, 2011. A Time to Say Thanks. The preparations are complete. The mask is made, the calculations done, the radiation schedule set. Tuesday morning Gerry and I. Head into the Farber. So here's the time for thanks. For the entire Dana Farber. Until Tuesday to begin. To everyone who called, wrote, e-mailed, read my blog, donated to Jen's PMC bike ride, posted on Facebook. Who offered rides, company, and dinners. No one can do the cancer journey alone, and your support became my strength. Decad...

Susan's Update: November 2011
http://susanupdate.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 18, 2011. If it's not one thing, it's something else. Last Monday Gerry and I went to Dana Farber. It was a typical Farber day: blood work, lunch, MRI, lung cancer support group, appointment with Dr. Weiss. Put on the roller skates. None of these things were close to each other! The best part of the day was the lung cancer support group. What a wonderful experience! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jen's Pan Mass Challenge Blog. Jen's Pan Mass Challenge Donation Page.
