Sunday, September 7, 2008. Caleb turned four on Saturday! He has been so excited for his birthday. He asked for a pet and a dinosaur cake. Mom was a little intimidated by both, but how can you say no to such a sweet boy? The cake turned out alright except that the head kept falling off. And the toad seems to be fairly low maintenance . Saturday, November 3, 2007. Emmylou had her first violin recital on Oct 25, 2007. Luckily it was on an odd day so I was able to attend. I've never been so proud. Friday, April 29, 2011. I could not wait for this day. I have been planning for weeks. And the girls were very excited. First we woke up at 3 in the morning to see the whole thing live! Bret being the best husband ever, woke me up and Bella came in to see the whole thing too. I have to say, Princess Kate looked beautiful! After our naps, we got ready to watch the rebroadcast. The girls put on their fanciest princess gowns. We did princess hair, complete with sparkles! Bella covered hers with jewels!

Sunday, October 9, 2011. We had an awesome pumpkin patch this year. All the rain made it go crazy and take over most of the garden and even spread to the grass. We ended up with 26 pumpkins, ready to carve! This was one of June's favorites. And this one was a perfect seat, I think maybe she was hoping it would turn into a coach for Cinderella. Concert in the Park. Thursday, July 28, 2011. Bella begged and begged to climb this tree. She just wanted to play at the playground. We had a fun night and enjoyed some great music! Friday, July 22, 2011. We headed up to Alta for a quick hike to Cecret Lake. With all the late snow this year and cold temperatures, the road was still closed, so we were directed to another hike just down the road. It was pretty steep starting off. June quickly discovered she liked a ride more than a hike. Can you believe it?

A Cookstown mathematics teacher of 21 years experience has been cautioned by the Education Board after his unusual methods were reported by angry parents. Barney McGrath, who was born in Ardboe but moved to Cookstown in 1979, defended his style, claiming he had already coached over 1000 pupils to success in O Level and GCSE Maths as well as Additional Maths.
