January 5, 2015 Filed under: Facebook. Few weeks ago I said f arewell to Microsoft. Today, while at the beautiful island of Grenada. Where Mary and I have been relaxing for the last week, I decided that it was time to write few words about my next chapter. Well, I will be joining Facebook. At their headquarters in Menlo Park, CA. Service Design Patterns for SOAP/WSDL and REST - About the Book
http://www.servicedesignpatterns.com/BookInfo
Request and Response Management. Praise for Service Design Patterns. Addison-Wesley has published a new book in my Signature Series . I think Robert has done a particularly good job of collecting together the best advice on the topic and organizing it into a useful handbook. This is the book that I think ought to become the standard book on the topic. To read Martin's Foreword. I have yet to see a book that covers fundamental patterns for services which I liked . I would recommend this book.". Rob Daigne...

Ending error-driven development: Size doesn't matter
http://errordrivendevelopment.blogspot.com/2014/09/size-doesnt-matter.html
A blog focused on programming, systems development, and IT consulting. Sunday, September 28, 2014. A couple of years ago, at a GOTO Aarhus conference, I took a break from the sessions, and walked around in the vendor area. Here I was lucky enough to be able to listen in on a conversation between Dave Thomas. This is the sort of things I think of when I hear the words "big data". It turns out that I've basically misunderstood the concept of big data, and that I underestimated the amount of data out there.

Ten Software Keywords That Make You Look Smarter. They say the coat doesn’t make the man, I say the right quote can make a developer punch above the waistline. In this post, I selected a group of my favourite keywords which make me smile and think “nerd” every time I hear them. 1 – The God Function. This term is usually used in a sarcastic way to mock a function that is long and needs refactoring. 2 – Vertical Concerns. 3 – Cross-Cutting Concerns. Cross-cutting concerns are aspects of a program that affe...

To make sure that it wasn’t a hoax email since he knew I was a Microsoft and Don fan :-). I went back to a research environment after Tony Hey. 8216;s invita...
