Modern art may not be my favorite but like some people say Pompidou has the best modern art collection in the world. We took a day trip to Salvador Dali's home town, Figueres, to visit Dali Museum by the high-speed train (Renfe). Dali museum is probably not on everybody's to-do list. To me, it's a must-see. Renfe train is wonderful. It's clean, roomy and comfortable. Renfe beats Eurostar hands down. The screen flashes information about the ride such as time and the next stop. SELF GUIDED OR NOT. The outside of Notre-Dame has these sculptures. Inside the building, the ambience is calming and the stained glass is just beautiful. There was a Mass taking place during my visit. It was quite fascinating to listen to the praying, singing and organ music in a medieval church setting. Photography is allowed. SELF GUIDED OR NOT. Musée d'Orsay is the only attraction I visited that doesn't allow photography. There are signs prohibiting photography everywhere. You could only take pictures in the lobby to capture the interior of the building.
