Friday, December 31, 2004. How will you spend the last day of 2004? Finishing up old business, making a list of resolutions for the New Year or taking the day off so you can meet with friends and family to celebrate tonight? For me it is a day to re-think the past year and use it to guide me to a better year coming up. I am rebuilding structures started long ago. Nothing kills like old dreams unrealized, new dreams not hoped for. I am re-charging my dream machine. Posted by esther @ 12/31/2004 08:04:00 AM.

Saturday, July 31, 2004. We saw several Indians on horseback, herding sheep and one posed beautifully for us when we stopped to take a picture. We were most appreciative until he came closer to the car with his hand out and said, MON-ey, MON-ey. It ruined the whole concept for us but aunt Beulah and Patty fished out a little change for him before we drove away. Patty was riding with mom and dad this afternoon. Wednesday, February 15, 2012. People come in and out of our lives during different stages of our journey. Some are brief and for some reason we lose touch. For quite a few years, America was on the move. We had neighbors move in and out on our street fairly often. Finally, I was the one to leave. Computers help keep us in touch with family and friends as do cell-phones. However, today I had a letter from a dear friend that came out of the snail-box. My friend and I laugh and say we’re old fashion...

I hope wherever you are, there are some flowers blooming in your yardit just isn’t Spring without flowers by the door-step. Posted by esther @ 4/07/2012 04:09:00 PM. When events happen I reach for a pen. I hope to leave a light along the trail for all who follow. Come along as we light the fires of inspiration.Esther. What's Up Down South.

Friday, April 30, 2004. LEARNING TO BE A WIFE. I was feeling a pull between working and being home. I could always think of things I wanted to get done but not before time to be at work. A senior citizen lived across the street from us and she would appear several times a week grooming her yard of flowers and pretty bushes. I wondered how she could spend that amount of time messing around in her yard. It didn’t make sense. Posted by esther @ 4/30/2004 01:30:00 PM. Thursday, April 29, 2004. George worked ...

Thursday, February 02, 2012. WHERE DID ALL THE QUIET GO. How long has it been since you met a car and no one was talking on a cell-phone? When first introduced, cell-phones were helpful in many ways to those in need of them. They seldom found their way to those who didn’t see them as necessary. I am one who doesn’t like a lot of gadgets. Therefore, cell-phones didn’t interest me at the time. How many hours a day are you free of sound contamination? Posted by esther @ 2/02/2012 01:37:00 PM.

Thursday, September 30, 2004. SOMETIMES PROGRESS IS PAINFUL.APRIL 1980. FROM A HOSPITAL WINDOW. Dead trees stand erect on distant hills. And look like raised, defiant quills. Below, the April grass of spring. Disguises scars and tries to bring. An end to Death. How much like simple grass and trees. Are arms and legs and such as these. Monday, January 31, 2005. After spending hours on the telephone working out the details of our new server we are most happy to be online with DSL. I am amazed with the quickness in response time. I am finally comfortable with my new address and although there was a complication with the spelling of our server.centurytel.netit seems to have worked out the gremlins. Wednesday, June 30, 2004. THE END OF OUR WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP. We drove home to Shawnee.a pretty tired bunch of people. We had a wonderful time and now it was time to go back to work and to school. No matter how much fun a trip is it’s always good to get back home. Posted by esther @ 6/30/2004 03:56:00 PM. Tuesday, June 29, 2004. Somehow I got derailed in my writing after I took a day off to go to the dentist. When I picked up my storyline I totally skipped the rest of 1964. So! My eyes fell on John who ...

Monday, March 12, 2012. Spring is here. We kept waiting for the other shoe to drop in January and February but I think it’s believable now. The reason being.everything is on time in the yard. The air is fresh and inviting and all of a sudden, I’m thinking about the container plants I want to enjoy this year. I like to try new things and hopefully dry some for the cards I make. My brother and I had to take turns and we were pretty careful to remember whose turn it was. He was older by four years and c...
