Debra Yoo's Art Blog: November 2009
http://debrayoo.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Debra Yoo's Art Blog. Monday, November 2, 2009. I recently had a wonderful tour of the Frames Conservation Department at the Tate, where Alastair Johnson explained many of the processes that go into the restoration of antique frames as well as the creation of new frames for museum works. For an overview of how a frame is constructed (I think maybe I always thought maybe they were just extruded, like Play-Doh), take a look at http:/ www.tate.org.uk/conservation/frames/cruikshank.htm. Debra Yoo's Art Blog: Getting ready

Debra Yoo's Art Blog. Thursday, April 15, 2010. I also like to line the drawer with some freezer paper or cut-up pieces of disposable palette paper, because when the inevitable paint tube leaks, it makes cleanup a lot easier. It's a good time to sort through the studio and pull out half-used tubes of paint for use outdoors - why carry a full tube when half will do? Thursday, April 15, 2010. Debra Yoo's Art Blog. Saturday, April 25, 2015. By the way, if you want a fabulously light and comfortable folding chair that fits easily into a backpack, try a Helinox - your derriere and your back will thank you.). This has been a respite from twenty years of painting landscapes of Maine, which I sorely needed. It's an interesting challenge reacquainting myself with a subject that for me is both sublime and very personal. Saturday, April 25, 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Debra Yoo's Art Blog: Outdoor painting #3 - more gizmos

Debra Yoo's Art Blog. Thursday, August 20, 2009. Outdoor painting #3 - more gizmos. This isn't an outdoor painting gizmo per se, but it is definitely one of the most money-saving devices I've used - a tube wringer. Gets those last bits out of that expensive tube of cobalt blue very well. They can be purchased from numerous art supply companies and also at http:/ www.tubewringer.com/index.php. Debra Yoo's Art Blog: September 2009
http://debrayoo.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Debra Yoo's Art Blog. Sunday, September 6, 2009. Another product I like is Winsor and Newton Brush Restore, a liquid for soaking really dried paint brushes (oil or acrylic). It does work when you've forgotten to clean up. For temporary clean-up in the studio, oil works well - vegetable oil or baby oil. There are a lot of good products out there, but the simplicity of this bar of soap is attractive, not to mention the price. Sunday, September 06, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
