the adventures of the hooks

The adventures of the hooks. Tuesday, June 3, 2014. One of my early motherhood realizations was around the idea of the unobserved. Firsts are easily identified and celebrated. Lasts are often unnoticed and unrecognized - gone until you look back from the new stage and think, remember when. Like the last time Clara crawled. Or the last time Caleb called himself "Cabub". Or the last butchering of the word spaghetti. So we recognized and appreciated it. Our last season of non-scheduled bliss. While ...Lovin...

the adventures of the hooks: April 2013

http://jonathanandamyhook.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

The adventures of the hooks. Monday, April 29, 2013. This past weekend we joined four families for a weekend away. We strategically crammed sixteen children under the age of eight into a five bedroom-ish VBRO in Sandpoint and spent three days enjoying pure chaos. The nature of this kind of trip - in this stage of life - is not relaxing. I repeat: not relaxing. I've heard it defined that a trip with kids. Is a trip. A trip without kids. Is a vacation. And that is certainly true. Friday, April 26, 2013.

The adventures of the hooks. Saturday, May 17, 2014. And the sad (or is it good? Reality is, it's true. I mean, I can go back and read the archives of this blog and remember some of the things I did before kids. But I can hardly remember the feeling of only being in charge of myself. Even in this challenging, consuming, exhausting season with two littles and a newborn, I am thankful for the gift of Motherhood. Our day this year was simple: BBQ on the back patio. And a few jammie snuggles before bed.

the adventures of the hooks: Four Year Old Preschool

http://jonathanandamyhook.blogspot.com/2013/09/four-year-old-preschool.html

The adventures of the hooks. Friday, September 6, 2013. Four Year Old Preschool. I will say something like this every single year. I can't believe Clara is starting four year old preschool. Just can't believe it. I swear we were just picking out a doll to get her for her first birthday. Where did the time go? Spaghetti - a favorite for all! Excited for school and those giant meatballs ;). She started on Wednesday with just half her class. Next week her regular M/W/F schedule will commence :). This little...

Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard and I have come in response to them." The Reynolds Review

Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Jonathan's cousin Brooke, a Baylor student, went to the park by Jrey's parents' house the day after Thanksgiving to take a few photos for us. Here are a few fun ones that didn't make the Christmas card. Brooke is so talented! LJ had a cardiology visit at the beginning of November. It was strange to actually prepare her for it! Her cardiologist says that everything looks pretty much the same except that maybe. Labels: congenital heart defects. Strider smiling, Landry not.
