Thursday, August 9, 2012. About that Mt. Ashland hike. Three miles into my ascent I felt amazing. I was running confidently and with purpose. I didn’t see what the big deal was about this trek. The hype seemed undeserved. Who can’t handle this? I thought I could easily have been Tom Hardy. Dustin Diamond? By mile ten I was cursing the existence of mountains. Monday, April 19, 2010. Trip to Alton, IL. Sign of spring. I like dandelions, even if they are considered a weed. A visit to the cemetary where Jon's grandpa is buried. We drove through Amish country. I know they don't like us taking their photos. Hannibal, MO, the home of Mark Twain. We looked around at the town. Ferry on the Mississippi River. Michael driving the boat. Jon and Sarah on the pontoon boat. We stayed here over the weekend. Even the dog enjoys the ride. Luke and Blake on the paddle boat.
