Click on a machine to see details and purchase. I'm a one-man shop for the time being, and each one of these little bastards is a unique hand-made creation, so it takes a while to get 'em done. As they sell, I'm trying to replace them, but sometimes It takes a while. Some machines are listed on Precision Ink's website, and are marked with a. I apologize in advance for sold-out listings that aren't marked as such. I can definitely do custom orders, but there is usually a two-week backup on the machines.

I've got two main projects going right now. I'm working on the claw - a new tattoo machine modelled after a bat wing, or a dragon, or something. And I'm always working on getting a case full of finished machines ready to sell.

Click on the images for more details. I came to tattoo machines from the metal sculpture world,. And I wanted to make machines that were totally different from everything else out there. Once the mechanical aspects are figured out, I get to play around with the aesthetics of the frames,. And hopefully create some really crazy-looking stuff. The most important part of any tattoo machine is the mechanism that it supports. I hand-turn all my own brass hardware. If any screwup leaves my shop, I'll fix it....

I’ll admit to a strong bias here, but for me, there are qualities possessed by sculpture that simply cannot be replicated by most other artistic media. A strong photograph captures (sometimes perfectly) a moment in time, in two dimensions. A strong painting or drawing captures an artist’s. I’m happy to release Dunkard Bottom. The sequel to Permelia Lyttle’s Guide to the End of the World. Writing book-length fiction always takes longer than one thinks, and you never feel like it’s finished. However, at some point one has to make way for new thinking, new themes, and new characters. This is a piece that I am using as a practice project, to learn some old-school sculpture techniques,. Using some old-school tools. I never really learned any traditional sculpture or modeling techniques, and as I get. Older, I see my self-taught habits hurting my work. Ishmael is an attempt to force myself to learn some discipline, as far as craft and technique go,. And make some forward progress, now that school is over and (for the time being), the day job takes precedent over the art job.
