Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Watching all the news coverage of the big snows up north made us feel left out until yesterday. We finally got what we consider a blizzard around here-about six inches. Everything shut down. It wasn't our usual type of icy winter precipitation. This stuff is white and fluffy. You didn't have to work hard at all to tidy it up. Thursday, September 4, 2014. It's been too hot to do much of anything for the past week or so. I've been passing the days building all those models I asked for at Christmas. I'm getting quite a collection of finished projects. I'm also having a hard time finding new kits to buy. I think I already own them all. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. I finally used my Father's Day gift certificate. It's a model. A really big model. It will be 30 inches long when finished. It's the U.S.S. New Jersey. A model of the only warship that provided gunfire support during the Vietnam war. There are almost 1400 pieces. There are 94 steps of instruction. Monday, March 30, 2015. Daughter has this ice show thing going on. I help out from time to time by putting together scenery and props. This is a cardboard lamp post kit. It took hours to cut out all the pieces with an exacto knife. I've learned to hate hot glue. Five hours later I had one together. Almost. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Happy New Year everybody! We had dinner and a drink down at the beach this year. It's been a long time since we did anything special on New Year's Eve. Normally I'd be getting ready for today's Polar Bear Plunge. But this is as close as I'm getting this year. A game of golf yesterday did me in. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. It's not Christmas until we go to Homestead Gardens and spend a ridiculous amount of time looking at the same ornaments we pretty much look at every year. The place is good for photo opportunities. There's something around every corner that you can get up close to for a selfie. There's also places you can sit and strike a pose. Sunday, June 22, 2014. On Saturday I wanted to go watch the Dragonboat races at North Beach. Instead I got to babysit Her new dog while She took photos of the event. The new pup doesn't get out much and the crowd and loud music scared her to death. We found a quiet place where they load the boats and spent some time getting used to the place.
