living fully alive
http://journeyofjessie.blogspot.com/2010/08/i-am-growing.html
Thursday, August 12, 2010. At least, I hope I am. Walt Disney said, "keep moving forward.". There is a Chinese Proverb that says,. Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still.”. And, if I may add to that, I heard someone say recently that, if you're not growing, you're dying. I'm guilty of looking at people with discrete degradation sometimes, because they're not doing things the same way I am. They're not loving the way I would. They're not experiencing God the way I have/am. Somet...
living fully alive: July 2010
http://journeyofjessie.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 21, 2010. It makes me irritable. Towards everything. People around me, myself, God, the coffee maker, the cat breathing, etc. Irritable at everything/one except him, the one who's causing it. He's a sneaky little leach. But after a little while of giving him too much leeway inside of my head, I get irritable with him. And sometimes, as an artist (especially if that's the area he's attacking you in), it's fun to counter him. Why? Ok one more, just cause I like me some quotes:. Feast in fro...

Thursday, March 17, 2011. Many of us will wear green in honor of it. Many of us will eat and drink different things specially to celebrate it. But I wanted to share part of who St. Patrick was. The history of today's holiday was never that important to me. But one day recently, I came across the quote that was engraved on the front of St Patrick's breastplate. It was later turned into a hymn for the Irish church in the late 1800s, and oh, how powerful it is! So I started looking up a little bit about him.
living fully alive: April 2010
http://journeyofjessie.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 14, 2010. I'm reading The Purpose Driven Life. Chapter five is entitled "Seeing Life From God's View" and in it, Rick asks what your view of life is, whether it be a roller coaster, a journey, etc. The first thing that came to mind was that life is a canvas, and not only is God the Artist, He is the Art Teacher, teaching us how to do this thing called 'life'. And the I've found is sad. When He isn't around. I worry about money. I will deal with pain before I will pray for it's healing.

The Happy Fast: Forgiveness
http://thehappyfast.blogspot.com/2011/01/forgiveness.html
The Pursuit of Happiness has been around for a long time. I'm learning what it really means to have joy. I'm learning to enJOY the source of that happiness. Monday, January 17, 2011. What is the basis of Christianity? Ask people that question and you'll get a bunch of different answers. I have my own personal answer : forgiveness. Who made those rules up anyway? Hugs and affection and reconciliation. It really is beautiful. My prayer now is "God, I want to forgive others, so you can forgive me. I wan...

A Day off and A Recipe. Talk about a heavy dose! The headache did ease off after a hot shower with sniffing steam (a great help to anyone with sinus issues). After 11 am, I was able to get up and start working on my to do list. Next time I will put the stir fry vegetables in the dish. I think they would be an extra bonus!

The Pursuit of Happiness has been around for a long time. I'm learning what it really means to have joy. I'm learning to enJOY the source of that happiness. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. There I stood. I was at an event where hundreds of people were hearing the gospel, maybe for the first time. They had just seen some graphic events as a set up to let them see consequences of bad decisions. They were supposed to write a prayer request down on this post it note and stick it to the cross. Unspoken. My brain...

The Pursuit of Happiness has been around for a long time. I'm learning what it really means to have joy. I'm learning to enJOY the source of that happiness. Wednesday, February 9, 2011. The In-Laws and Older People in General. Okay, so I'm not married, but we all know the stereotypical views of "in-laws." I personally hate them. Right now I have great in-laws (bro-in-law and sis-in-law). We'll see how that ends up working out when I do get married, but for now, I still hate the stereotype. I guess my poi...

Jason's Journey
My Thoughts on Life, Culture, and God. Sunday, October 18, 2009. One of the most disturbing things about this though is that there are others in my family that continues to see these trends as wholesome and ultimately beneficial to preaching the gospel. But, is this the trend that Paul spoke out against in many of his writings? Is this the very thing that is actually counterproductive to the gospel? It seems that “the goodness of God leads men to repentance”, not the condemnation of man. Posted by Jason ...

traveling mercies | from Kansas to Alabama with a banjo on my knee
From Kansas to Alabama with a banjo on my knee. The director explained more about the process refugees go through to get here. Did you know that only about 2% of refugees are resettled? By “resettled” I mean given a chance to have a new home in a new country.) Most of them spend their life in refugee camps or move on from there on their own. What a life. I can’t imagine. Stay tuned for more…. Only 2% of refugees get resettled. Comments : 1 Comment. The Power of Presence. In the moment. I already see ...

Earlier tonight I read an article (blog post) that a [younger] colleague shared on Facebook. It’s been bugging me. I decided to un-follow my colleague because she’s posted so many similar type of articles. Self-righteous, opinionated, and indifferent to other perspectives. What is tiring me about Facebook is how many people who it to passive aggressively get on their soapbox. The most ubiquitous recently is the Great Vaccine Debate. I have seen the posts from both sides on my news feed. IR...We see th...
