Journey of the Red Thread. Tuesday, April 07, 2015. Spring break 2015 - Road trippin' to SD. Decided to save some money and took a road trip this spring break. Drove 10 hours west through South Dakota. I had no idea it was so empty. There was actually a rattle snake at the top of the path that we avoided. It was 81 (in March) so a bit of shade was appreciated (and hard to find). Alex spotted this burrowing owl. Good eye, Alex! Alex's selfie with my SLR camera. The kids seemed most impressed by this!

I know updates are coming next week, or the week after, and just thought the agency could ask the Guatemalan Attorney one question for us."did PGN keep its promise and put us back where we were in the process, or did we go to the bottom? Our dog Koko ate my Guatemalan worry dolls this weekend. Too bad, I needed them. Good news is, since Saturday, Koko seems VERY worry-free. Sunday, January 21, 2007.

It has a lot of history, in fact our hotel (Casa Santa Domingo) was built in a former convent and much of it is ruins that were excavated and designed around. There was an interesting tour that focused on our hotel and its history. There are several beautiful Churches in the area, a few from the 1400s, which are ruins and now museums. This new stretch of highway is less than 1 mile from Jon's parents house, so after dinner we all piled in Grandpa Joel's truck to check out the inaugural travelers on the nearby overpass. For example, informing first the parents of your plans and decisions. That is what I failed to do . Being excited and all, we had already set our wedding date and booked the church last May.
