Journey of the Red Thread. Tuesday, April 07, 2015. Spring break 2015 - Road trippin' to SD. Decided to save some money and took a road trip this spring break. Drove 10 hours west through South Dakota. I had no idea it was so empty. There was actually a rattle snake at the top of the path that we avoided. It was 81 (in March) so a bit of shade was appreciated (and hard to find). Alex spotted this burrowing owl. Good eye, Alex! Alex's selfie with my SLR camera. The kids seemed most impressed by this!
