Jo Bloggs: May 2007

Monday, May 28, 2007. Sorry, they didn't have the lights on. But this - and the fact that on a Saturday afternoon there is not a single car or pedestrian on the street - is not to suggest that a weekend in Lafayette needs to be boring. For readers of Llew and Gemma's blog. Please skip the next section). It was a Mexican weekend with extensive cooking and a big party at Robin's house on Sunday night. There will be a more detailed report on Llew&Gemma's blog. Can you believe this? And lighting of fireworks.

Thursday, August 30, 2007. The Kimberleys underground - Tunnel Creek. The following are a few photos from our underground journey along Tunnel Creek - a river that cut a 1.4km Tunnel through the 'mountain range' of the Devonian Reef. Entering the underground World. Amazing limestone formations further along the tunnel. Probably the prettiest spot- a rockfall opened a hole in the roof and the dim light creates the most amazing colours on the lime stone. And there is, as always, some wildlife to discover.

Thursday, January 24, 2008. Here are finally the long overdue photos from Kaeng Krachan, the largest National Park in Thailand. One of the main attractions in the Park is the sea of mist. You have to be there at dawn to observe the impressive spectacle. I personally got more excited about the animal tracks around the salt lick (see previous post). It was soo cool to see fresh elephant prints all over the place. And the elephants also left further evidence of their activity. View my complete profile.

Monday, September 24, 2007. Sorting my photos: More from the Kimberleys - Windjana Gorge. I finally found the time to sort through the rest of the photos from my Kimberleys trip and thought I'd share a few of the good ones. The following shots are from an awesome walk we did through Windjana Gorge:. Croc with a view: How to better start a bushwalk than with a view like this and a freshwater croc in the foreground. More wildlife - is there some sort of tension here? A view of the end of the gorge. After t...

It is in North Rockhampton in the suburb of Frenchville and it has to be one of the most prestigeous addresses at Forbes Avenue. We didn't pay anything like a prestigeous price for it - real bargain! The door on the right is a double entrance door. And then the view! And a great patio to admire it from. One day we w...
