Saturday, September 6, 2014. Interstate adoption is a process that can be frustrating and filled with more waiting than anyone with a brand new baby in an unfamiliar state wants to do. It involves the state of birth signing off on records, then shipping those records to the adoptive family's home state, and then that state has to approve the records and communicate it to the state of baby's birth. We are talking state governments here. So we made our reservations and headed home on Saturday morning.
