Tamar Loses It: December 2013
http://tamarlosesit.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 7, 2013. I'm Sick of Winter - and it's not even here yet . Yes, we're living in a deep freeze. We're not used to this, not any more. One reason we traded the cold winds of Trinity Bay in Newfoundland for the mild climes of southeast British Columbia was to get away from all these minus temperatures. In summer, I get to grumble when we get the rare heat wave. In fall I get to moan when the temperatures drop to the single digits. But now, in December? Need I say more? I think we probably...

..............Tamar's Day Off...............: Fiona

The clock showed ten-thirty when Peter half stumbled, half fell through the bedroom door. I was burrowed in blankets, pretending to be asleep. I knew what was coming next, and my heart was thumping so furiously I thought he would hear it. I tried to control my breathing, and stirred slightly, hoping he would leave me alone, just this once. Your dinner's in the oven, it's been there since six o'clock.". You expect me to eat this fucked up shit? I wish he goes to sleep.". I wish he dies in his sleep.".

ROSE’S STORY- THE CANDLE. Someone took the candle away. I don’t know why – it’s not like I ever lit it; it just sat there squarely, snugly, in the corner of my little shelf, and now there’s just an empty spot, dust free and just waiting. 8221; And look, there was one little lonely candle on the cake. Now I don’t have a birthday any more – I have a birthmonth, along with all of my ‘family’ that were born in September. We have a huge cake, a humungous cake, big enough for a vill...Well, maybe this year it ...

Tamar Loses It: Life is a Walk in the Park ... or at least it was on Friday.
http://tamarlosesit.blogspot.com/2015/05/life-is-walk-in-park-or-at-least-it-was.html
Saturday, May 16, 2015. Life is a Walk in the Park . or at least it was on Friday. Friday, May 15 - payday is the reason we headed to Steveston, and Steveston was the reason we walked around Gary Point Park. What a beautiful day, and after the hassle of trying to find a parking spot in the village so I could run into the store and then the bank, it was so nice to drive a few minutes farther west and choose one parking spot out of many at the park. We walked by the Japanese garden . One thing about this f...

When you’re sitting on the toilet with a pail between your knees. And the sweat is sitting on your brow like dew. You don’t worry much ‘bout dinner or the dog that’s full of fleas. The only thing you worry ‘bout is you. As you shiver in your thinker’s pose, your pants down past your knees. And your body’s shaking like an leaf aflutter. You don’t worry much ‘bout laundry or the dying off of bees. You just wonder why your legs have turned to butter. And wonders what the hell you’re doing there. The melon s...

http://tamarsdayoff.blogspot.com/p/reruns.html
A BRAND NEW WORLD. Holy shit, where am I? I woke up this morning to a brand new word. Don’t know what happened when I slept – maybe I died, but this doesn’t look much like heaven to me. And while it’s a bit warmer, it just isn’t hot. Enough to be the other place. Who knows? 8220;Hey, you’re new here, aren’t you? I turned around, and saw this old-timer, leaning on a stick and squinting at me. Yeah – I guess so, but where am I? 8221; I shouted, “Wait up! 8220;Do you know what’s going on? 8221; I panted.

Wednesday, April 20, 2011. GROWING OLD - much easier than growing up. However, my parts are wearing out. My knees feel crumbly, my right leg gets so sore I can hardly bend it, and I hobble around a lot trying to keep my kneecap in its socket. Degenerative Osteoarthritis, the Doctor called it. I guess I should get a cane, but would rather have a stick that I could paint and glue feathers and buttons on. April 21, 2011 at 7:07 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tamar Loses It: August 2014
http://tamarlosesit.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 29, 2014. Something really upset me today . you won't need any smiles for this one! Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world. Jack Layton. These wonderful words are on a Face Book page - along with a rant which really troubles me. Is a guy wearing that damn towel around his head. My blood boiled! The only racism I knew while growing up in Newfoundland was from Archie Bunker'...

Fiona, from middle to beginning. 65279; ASSIGNMENT: Get a copy of your city or town's newspaper, the print or electronic version. Select one article. Look at the personal ads, the society column, obituaries, or even Dear Abby for inspiration. Read it thoroughly. Outline a fictional story or nonfiction article based on the article. Tamar Loses It: September 2014
http://tamarlosesit.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 4, 2014. Pizza, BBQ, Jiggs Dinner - from one adventure to another etc etc . a week of Go Go Go. On Wednesday, I took off on bus and sky train once more, this time to New Westminster. I did a little bit of a walk around, and ended up watching a movie - The Giver. It was okay, but of all the movies I've seen that I would willingly watch twice, this one wasn't one of them. I just got called in by Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. I think I slept on Friday. And a few hours later? Meanwhile, ...
