Karin grew up in (French speaking) Belgium and lives presently in The Netherlands. She attended secondary school in Brussels, studied French language and literature and mass communication at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in film science. She followed the training for directing drama at the MAURITS BINGER Film Institute in Amsterdam en several workshops, like the SOURCES script workshop, directing actors with Ruud Schuitemaker and camera by Leonard Retel Helmrich. A Painting Today
The results of the life of a paintaholic. Wednesday, March 21, 2018. My new painting features Edward Hopper's New York Movie. Which I last saw at the Art Institute of Chicago, on loan from the Museum of Modern Art in an exhibition titled America after the Fall: Painting in the 1930's. The exhibition included my very favorite painters - Hopper, O'Keeffe, Grant Wood to name a few - depicting scenes during the Great Depression. It was unforgettable. The poet Joseph Stanton wrote an ode to the painting.
