Karl and Jo's blog: August 2010

http://www.karlandjosblog.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 11, 2010. After 9 months in the sun, Bob and Laurie needed to be reintroduced to the cold white stuff. With this in mind we look a weeks holiday to go in search of snow. Happy as a pig in snow. Dropping back down to Ohau after touring along the ridge. Laurie telling Jo how to avoid losing a finger on the worlds longest nutcracker, Round Hill. Ski gear must dry some way or another. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Grant and Heathers Blog. Aric and Jens blog. Paddy and Jills blog.

Karl and Jo's blog: November 2010

http://www.karlandjosblog.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 01, 2010. The days are getting longer and warmer and that means that the little snow left in the mountains is fast disappearing. For the last turns of the year we headed up to Ohau ski field. The nice people at the lodge give you a key for the gate if you give them 5 bucks. Seems fair. Han and I laid some tracks down a nice little chute. Great way to finish the season. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Grant and Heathers Blog. Aric and Jens blog. Paddy and Jills blog. Karl and Jo's blog: January 2011

http://www.karlandjosblog.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 31, 2011. The blog has been a bit neglected lately. So to remedy this, we headed into Aspiring National Park. Looking up the West Matukituki valley. The highest point of our trip is marked. Up and out of the Valley. Mt Aspiring in the background. An evening stroll at Cascade Saddle. The weather turned to poo the next morning, so we headed out to civilization with the lure of hot meat pies and fresh coffee. Surveying the lay of the (uneven) land. Dig, shovel, remove, repeat.

Karl and Jo's blog: San Francisco and Yosemite

http://www.karlandjosblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/san-francisco-and-yosemite.html

Monday, August 22, 2011. San Francisco and Yosemite. After a crazy 3 weeks in New York for me and busy week flying around Canada for Jo, we met up in San Francisco for a bit of R and R before heading back to NZ. Coffee drinking by the Bay Bridge. Yosemite is crazy busy in summer. But the higher you hike, the less the crowds are. Yosemite point with Half Dome behind. Then back to the city for a bit more sightseeing before the longhaul flight back downunder. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Manklow Watson Report. Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Classes have definitely helped in multiple areas, but especially in the editing workflow side of things. I have even been inspired to revisit old b w film negatives and attempt to archive them digitally (got to have something to do when you are between bike and ski seasons). Shooting with your subject with their back to the sun. no squinting :). Sorry, this one is from Fernie. Don't know why, but I have always liked taking photos of bridges.

No Longer Landlocked Maritimers. Saturday, February 7, 2009. No Chinnooks here, but the Weather has been pretty crazy.Aside from the shovelling (that we haven't had to do for the past 4 years) we've managed to make the best of it-. Hiking with Nanny Lawless. I swear the hold was unintentional. A 300 foot vert. mountain. Mom claims she was in control. Finn in the penalty box again. What better in minus 15 deg. than a stroll at the beach? But boy could she throw a good cross check. Port Williams Scare Crow.

Jack has somehow become a home body.  With Charlie’s naps and Jack fighting to leave his trains I was beside myself trying to get the heck out the door.  Luckily nanny lawless came to the rescue …with her wonderful mind games Jack was so confused that he got excited to get out by the water during a cold and windy day. . The McLaughlin Clan: August 2009

http://carrieandkyle.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 13, 2009. We were in Canmore for the past few days just biking, playing road hockey, going for little hikes and hanging out in the coffee shops waiting for the rain to stop. Once the rain stopped. off to the playground. Finn just doesn't stop running. Unless he's posing for the camera. And he's off again. The burly mountain man. Off to the slide. And of course the post-playground snack. Posted by Kyle McLaughlin. Monday, August 10, 2009. The boys had a great time exploring the waterfalls...
