My rating: 4 of 5 stars. Rendered in what seems like a combination of ink and digital coloring, this book describes exactly a visit to a friend who lives in a city. It is sweet and fast and the muted, soft colors and designs are visually appealing. I really enjoyed this book and I will enjoy sharing it with others. Middot; Where...

I enjoyed this narrator-heavy books! I found the first couple of chapters a little frustrating as they are SO exposition-heavy, but Bosch’s use of writing conventions as plot catalysts is so much fun! The mystery is mysterious and I am excited to not learn more about the secret. View all my reviews. Tagged as middle grade.

Idle Shadows of a Literary Life. Shadows of a Literary Body. At thirteen years old, my grandmother gave me. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Before my love affair with Harry began, I was fascinated with Holocaust survivor stories and memoirs; perhaps this phase began with Lois Lowry’s. But it soon evolved to include (among others). The Diary of Anne Frank. Skipped the sequels (I think Jo’s decision not to marry Laurie irritated the romantic in me too much) and jumped into. Je ne sais quoi. So where...

If you are going to use rhymes, make it consistent. The random slant and near rhymes mixed with only some perfect rhymes is unappealing. It’s too bad, the idea is fun and illustrations not bad.
