So I'm sitting eating a box of junior mints one lovely chocolate coated pebble after another. But now's not the time for snacks, M-pals! Getting me distracted like that, it's unbelievable. We have important things to discuss, guys. So today's favorite website is a bit different. Why? How many of you listen to music while you write, or brainstorm? Their followers...

Wednesday, August 5, 2015. NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Round One. Location - High Stakes Room in a Casino. Object to be Mentioned - Swiss Army Knife. The crimson crushed velvet lined walls are a harsh contrast to my multicolored bulletin boards and 38 desks and chairs. Just Write: On Writing.
http://brandyshockley.blogspot.com/2011/04/on-writing.html
Wednesday, April 6, 2011. I've always wanted to title something "On Writing" and now I have. That's exciting. One of my best friends to this day was on staff with me and he would plan and plan until his article was perfect. I, on the other hand, would pick out the best quotes and figure it out as I went. I've noticed that a lot of authors also write in different ways as well, and it's become even more apparent since I joined Twitter. I'm totally growing as a writer and a person, I think. How do you write?

Just Write: September 2013
http://brandyshockley.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme started by Jaime Morrow. That allows us to touch base with blog friends and let them know what's going on in our crazy writer lives. And get back to my normal reading material. Working on revisions and kicking around new ideas for my next book. As always, exciting and terrifying. What Else I've Been Up To. I did get a new vacuum cleaner this week which is way more exciting to me than it should be. What can I say? My life is crazy. It str...

And friends that are boys. Dilemma that is so common with teen girls. I'm dotting the I's and crossing the T's on my latest edits. A few minor, tiny changes and feedback from betas and I'm all set. Yikes. What Else I've Been Up To. What Inspires Me Right Now. So What are YOU up to? Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

Just Write: Getting back on track.
http://brandyshockley.blogspot.com/2012/01/getting-back-on-track.html
Thursday, January 5, 2012. Getting back on track. I'm not going to lie. I slacked off on my writing duties in December. I was VERY busy baking and eating and Christmas-ing. Also normal life stuff, but mainly eating. I've made some headway into my revisions but the tough stuff lies ahead, so I'd really like dive back into those very soon. Like right after I write this. After that, my plan is more revisions! What's the deal, brain? Also, why am I typing hole so much? Do you make writing goals? YA Writer...

Just Write: Going dark.
http://brandyshockley.blogspot.com/2011/05/going-dark.html
Monday, May 16, 2011. No, not my hair. My mom, who if you follow me on Twitter you are well aware, is the injection of humor, reality and gravity in my life, looked at me oddly when I announced, "I'm going dark! Well," she shrugged, "I was hoping you'd go blonde, but if you need to go darker, that's fine. Less roots.". So what about the writers out there? Has your writing ever turned in a direction you didn't expect? Or is that just a me thing? May 16, 2011 at 7:33 AM. In my current WIP, one of my MCs st...

Just Write: October 2013

Wednesday, October 16, 2013. What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme started by Jaime Morrow. That allows us to touch base with blog friends and let them know what's going on in our crazy writer lives. Three words, you guys: THE DREAM THIEVES. Oh man. So, I'm not sure if I've talked about my favorite book that I read last year, but it was THE RAVEN BOYS by Maggie Stiefvater. I actually took a picture of one paragraph and saved it in my phone as "What Character Descriptions Should Be Like! 38,569/70,000 (55%).
