It should be a lot of fun! My host mother and I are making arroz con leche, a dessert with coconut. Kate in Costa Rica. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Christmas Gifts for My Trip. Among the various items I received for Christmas from my family and friends were some intended for use abroad. I got 2 tote bags, a guide book (that I had picked out previously), a webcam, luggage locks, a piece of carry-on luggage that converts to a bookbag, a travel first aid kit, a rain jacket, and last but certainly not least, travel bug repellent and mosquito netting. That should mean I'm prepared now, right?

We went to a little soda to eat lunch, and just as we finished, the clouds burst and it started pouring. Kate in Costa Rica. Thursday, May 28, 2009. A Long Weekend at the Beach! Just a quick post to let everyone know I'll be taking a long weekend in Montezuma. Which is actually in Puntarenas. Not Guanacaste like I had previously said. I'll be leaving bright and early tomorrow, then getting back sometime Monday afternoon.
