Studying Socially: Decades Project
http://tarasocialstudies.blogspot.com/2011/04/decades-project.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2011. The Decades project was a fun, hands-on way of researching and presenting information about various decades within the United States. We had groups from the turn of the century, 1920's, and the 1940's through the 1970's. Everyone dressed up in costumes reflecting the dress of their period and created posters, slide shows, and brought artifacts that highlighted important information about their decade. It wasn't called the Roaring Twenties for nothing! Live, Love, Learn.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Bringing the Neighborhood into the Classroom. A community such as street names, addresses and how apartment ones are different, also intersections, sidewalks, how people get around. And so much more! Great authentic learning activity that you can shape and mold to fit any grade level! I would recomend doing this activity to introduce the idea of neighborhood and expand on this idea!
