Katie in the (Veggie) Kitchen
Katie in the (Veggie) Kitchen. Join me in my adventures in the veggie kitchen, trying out new flavours, foods, kitchen gadgets, and recipes! Sunday, 27 April 2014. Halloumi and Broad Bean Salad. It's been a wee while since my last post - not because I haven't been cooking anything new, but because every time I do, I don't feel I've got it quite right, so I want to work on the recipe before posting it! Halloumi and Broad Bean Salad. Serves two as a lunch, or more if served as a side). Meanwhile, slice the...

Katie in the wind
Katie in the wind. Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Susan Boyle needs to get out of my face. I have held my tongue long enough, but this has gone too far. Susan Boyle has made an appearance on my beloved Dancing with the Stars and I can't hold it in any longer. I DON'T GET IT! Her voice is like.good.but um.she is not Celine Dion. The only reason anyone cares is because she looks like a creech? What is the problem here? You can have your 15 minutes Susan, just stay away from DWTS. Seriously. He holds back hi...

Salut Togo!
Tuesday, January 11, 2011. I remember last year being at the same dances, having just arrived in my village, and how much fun it was then, and still is now. So, check out my picasa website, I just uploaded photos! I added two here. I am in one with a group of women I work, and we are going to build a well there soon. The other is from our enriched porridge formation we made at the clinic. Everyone loves porridge with soy, beans and peanuts for extra nutrition! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sustainably Kate | I now blog at sustainableprincess.wordpress.com See you there!
I now blog at sustainableprincess.wordpress.com See you there! 8220;We’ve moved”. November 12, 2011. Just a heads-up, I will now be blogging at sustainableprincess.wordpress.com. My husband tells me it’s kind of a thing on the internet to post and say ‘We’ve moved’ just, you know, for people’s information. Even though it’s not a ‘we’ it’s really just a ‘me’. But anyway, there you have it. See you there, if you like. Assume the Best, Expect the Best. November 1, 2011. I know this is the difficult path, bu...

Katie in Tokyo
The musings of an English lass in a foreign city. Saturday, 9 November 2013. Last day in Tokyo. It was my last day in Tokyo today, after a fab few days at the International Bazaar. I managed to fit a lot in, including a trip to Kuramae to buy clasps, a trip to Nippori to buy fabric, a trip to my favourite ramen shop for tan tan men, and then a final trip to Loft, where I found some dubious machines to help lose weight. Something to help tone up the mouth muscles. Even the eye muscles get a workout. Canva...

Katie In Uganda
Friday, 10 August 2012. However, I am doing ok! I actually find it quite strange how easily I am slipping back into the fast pace of life and the world around me. Some days it feels like I never even went away and that the last year could have been a dream. How surreal it feels some days - maybe it's just that right now I am in my honeymoon period as the realities of work and daily pressures are not fully upon me yet! Things I am loving about being home:. My totally wonderful and comfy bed. The beautiful...
