The sun’s rays leak lethargy as the stillness of the air further exasperates inertness. I long for the water. Luckily the Wappingers Creek has the cure. I unload my kayak on the shoreline three-miles inland from its terminus. But a complete plunge as we four hurl our sunbaked bodies off Wappingers Falls’ rocky ledges.
