Saturday, April 01, 2006. Thoughts after something of a pause. So it's been quite a while since I did any real blogging. I haven't even posted on Frostopolis. In ages. This is mostly because I've been very busy with my spiffy new job fighting spam. That and the parties. But in the meantime I've been thinking a lot about art and film and the future of the Web and all those other things. Google bought Writely. To which I say. About f-in' time, guys. View my complete profile. Project: This Like That. NeoNa&...

Saturday, May 26, 2007. Google Maps: Awesome Europe. I'm playing around with Google Maps lately. You can mark things on their global map and put information around your "pin" and make the whole thing public. This, I like. My first attempt at a "public map" is Awesome Europe. And the first entry is of course Bileca. TypePad as CMS: Maybe the next time. As I mentioned earlier. Wow, what a phrase. It's not what you think! S team, they're smart enough to get you 95% there. I also had some general nits bu...

Monday, February 02, 2015. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been playing with Go. An open-source programming language from Google. My motivation was pretty simple: I felt like trying out a new server language, something modern and perhaps even trendy. Partly because it’s always a good idea to learn new things, and partly because I was growing frustrated with the limitations of Perl. Also, a highly respected member of the Perl community recently published a soul-searching article,. When trying out a new...

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. One more thing to make "next blog" suck less. I forgot one very big thing. In my previous post. About un-suckifying the blog browsing option here at Blogspot/ Blogger. It's so important I'm prepending. It to my list: 0. Get rid of the damned browser-hijacking blogs! And if you refuse to get rid of them, at least exclude them from the "next blog" matches. And not spamming for dollars. With all these negatives, why allow scripts and embedded objects? Let them register it and b...

Sunday, June 10, 2007. Budapest Tour Guides and Apartments. Some people, when they go to Budapest, get to stay with my friends and pretty much have the time of their lives. Now you can have essentially the same experience even if you don't know me! My buddy Pál (as in Paul) has teamed up with some awesome people to offer very personal tours of Budapest. As well as downtown Budapest apartments. Wednesday, June 06, 2007. VernissageTV Art Video Blog. I just found a cool new art blog called VernissageTV.

Saturday, April 28, 2007. Has switched from Ruby to Python, and he's blogging about it: http:/ blog.cbcg.net/articles/category/python. His first Ruby vs. Python. Post got picked up by Reddit. The vomitorium is not for vomiting. Http:/ www.straightdope.com/columns/021101.html. TypePad Pro as CMS. I'm starting to wonder whether TypePad Pro. Friday, July 20, 2007. Firefox goes to 11. It was fluctuating between 102% and 104%. Before any of you heavy math types get all huffy with your talk of impossibility, let me just say that my iPhone was docked at the time, and I think its processor can probably just about handle an extra 5% of my Macbook. Saturday, July 14, 2007. ATT needs 10 business days to execute two SQL updates. They can do about it. Like hire competent programmers for example. Blogger can't parse HTML entities. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Ezt szeretem nagyon. Nem tom miert. Long time gone, nyócker. They tore this down years. Ago Alberto took a picture then with the little Minox. I wonder if he still has it. I wonder if they'll ever finish. Igor Obrovski by Francis Bacon. If Francis Bacon had been a cheap camera in an unsteady hand. Various and sundry things. I have a bunch of projects I never seem to have time to finish. But they're all pretty cool. There's ProCork. We all hope). And then there's my portfolio.

Advice I should Take Myself. Asymp; Leave a comment. I can’t agree enough with ‘don’t read your genre.’. Some snippets now, on how to be a better writer. There are so many people out there writing, it just makes it harder for editors/publishers to sift through the nonsense. I grew up in a time when it was considered okay to be a winner, and that therefore there would be losers. I studied sculpture at university, but my degree means nothing; who needs artists when we have the TV and cinemas?
