Dave is training for off-road triathlons. Here's how he's doing. Friday, July 17, 2009. FRIDAY, JULY 17, 2009. Front loop - felt like I was climbing very well. My bike did sweet on the uphill. The heat really took a lot out of me. Went through a lot of water, but felt much to depleted at the end of a short ride. Need to ride more in the mornings. Training Effect: 3.4. EPOC Peak: 87 ml/kg. O2 Consumption: 42 ml/kg/min. Resp Rate: 44 breaths/min. Total Energy: 501 kcal. Distance: 5.8 miles.

Swam 1000 yds again this morning. It's coming back, piece by piece but still lacking endurance (feels like I lost a lot). Super windy outside today. Fought the wind for the first half of the ride into Old Town. Not sure the numbers below were captured correctly. Felt a lot worse than they show. Training Effect: 3.1. TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2009.
