Brooxie's Blog: Tech Ed
http://brookesregenhardt.blogspot.com/2010/08/tech-ed.html
Thursday, August 5, 2010. Technology and the progression of it is inevitable. Since computers are the way of the future for our students, the inability to use them will be catastrophic to their future. As teachers, I believe that our job is to best prepare our students for the world that awaits them. To do this, we must incorporate technology into our curriculum. A student without the essential tech know-how will be at a serious disadvantage that could lead to a lifetime of setbacks. Long Time, No (Hear).

Technology in classroom: Cyberbulling
http://ryanjohnson9009.blogspot.com/2010/07/cyberbulling.html
Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Cyberulling is a big problem in schools and can be charachterized by someone making threats, issuing insults, overall harassment over the web. Playing games I do set my self up for being bullied and I guess it could be considered cyberbulling when someone is consistantly trying to harass me, but I have not had many problems with it over all. July 21, 2010 at 2:17 PM. I think that you are also right in setting up a communicative dynamic with students in order to better handle cyb...

Technology in classroom: July 2010

Friday, July 23, 2010. Does technology shorten our attention span? I am biased and thinking that it does not because I have used technology most of my life and I am considered pretty patient with people, if I was not, I would probably not be a teacher. However, the counterpoint argument does not really strengthen either of their arguments about this subject. If I were to guess, I think it would make sense that studetns would eventually have a shorter attention span, especially since kids are playing thes...

http://nicoleaccuardi.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-powerpoints-make-me-feel.html
Monday, August 2, 2010. How powerpoints make me feel. I loved in the presentation Alexis gave how all the visuals had a nice clear contrast that supported her text. She used flow charts to explain what was happening with the environment and I loved that! I also liked how she had photos of satellites and sechis and what they did. It was very clear. I thought she did a great job of focusing her images. I think that powerpoint can be a very useful tool. I am not very big on lecturing, but I do think tha...

Saturday, July 31, 2010. Is Chat Speak Destroying English? If "chat speak" is a threat to the English language as we know it than we should quickly eradicate Shakespeare and poets such as e.e. Cummings from the classroom. These writers took far too many liberties with the English language to be considered role models for aspiring writers! And a teenager experimenting with a. The World As I See It: Can you hear me now? How about now?
http://leejaylee.blogspot.com/2010/08/can-you-hear-me-now-how-about-now.html
The World As I See It. Sunday, August 1, 2010. Can you hear me now? The answer to these questions, unfortunately, is yes the entire class can hear you. I am fully aware that my position on this topic will make me sound sixty years old and crotchety however I am who I am. I am a vehement no vote on the issue to utilizing cell phones in the classroom. I understand the potential for good but why tempt someone? August 3, 2010 at 9:51 PM. I am with you on the no vote! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The World As I See It: August 2010
http://leejaylee.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
The World As I See It. Friday, August 6, 2010. Unfortunately, an often overlooked problem with the new wave of technology in classrooms is that there are still many children that have no or little access to computers outside of school. There is no question that incorporating technology into a classroom where all the students have outside access is a great way to prepare them for the technological future. However what happens if some of the students do not have outside computer access? Can you hear me now?
