Friday, May 28, 2010. May 28, 2010. It has been a while since the last workout posted. Hopefully the past ones have been able to sustain you. Warm up; your choice. Alternate freestyle and backstroke by 100. Dolphin kick off each wall until your feet reach the flags then swim freestyle the rest of the way. Use the 3-7-3 drill (that means 3 regular strokes then 7 kicks on your side, another 3 strokes, then repeat across the pool). Flutter kick with board. Odds are sprint, evens are easy. May 28, 2010.

Kick/drill/swim by 25; @ 1:40 (1:50, 2:00). IM/Free by 25; @2:30 (2:45, 3:00). Odds no breath (swimming), evens easy; @ :40 (:45). Kick; @ :55 (1:00, 1:15, 1:30). TOTAL YARDAGE: 2,650. Drill/swim by 25; @ :55 (1:00, 1:10, 1:20). 3:00 (3:30, 3:45). 6:20 (6:45, 7:00). 150 Fast, 50 Easy; @3:15 (3:30, 3:45). TOTAL YARDAGE: 3,000. May 15,2009- Part 2.

I cannot remember the second set. So I will put the one I would choose to do). Favorite 50's- that is 16x50's on 1:00 in groups of four, the second 25 of each is always IM order. The first 4 all start with Fly, the second 4 with backstroke, etc. After the first one, I decided to do the pulls backstroke). March 27, 2012.

Saturday, April 3, 2010. April 3, 2010. I should just keep this window open all the time. Otherwise I forget to do things. Warm up- 100 kick, 100 drill, 100 pull, 100 swim. Descend 1-4, your choice of stroke; @:30 (:40). Negative split (2nd half faster than the 1st); @3:30 (3:50, 3:00). Descend 1-3 (by 300's), the last 300 should be all out; @:30-:45 rest. Pace, try to hold the same exact time on each one (not a slow time! Cool down- ascend.start strong un-build to easy. Total yardage: 4,000.

I am really hoping that I can get one more workout in over the weekend, but that doesn’t usually happen. So tonight’s workout wasn’t that interesting. I swam 4,500 yards straight. Thursday, July 24, 2014. BEAR LAKE MONSTER SWIM! Last Saturday was the Bear Lake Monster Swim. I had a blast and did a fabulous job! My goal was to swim it in less than 3 hours and 30 minutes. Sunday, February 15, 2015. First Run In Years. Today I started my walk/running. I decided to start very slowly because my left knee usually hurts when I run. I thought this way I could slowly build up the muscles. I started with walking and alternated with running. I went nine rounds for a total of about 25-30 minutes. I used my iPod to measure; I alternated by songs. That is probably not the most exacting way, but I liked it better than trying to keep track of minutes and watching my watch.

Sunday, February 8, 2015. I really have to thank my husband for putting up with me. I make it pretty miserable for him. I put him through a lot of pressure not to swim. He has to keep persuading me every time. And he does such a great job of it. I only got in the pool today because of him. I just wanted to take a nap. But he knew better, he pushed me out the door and told me that I would be glad that I went. And he was 100% right. Here is today’s workout:. 1,000 warm up. 4,000 yards total. But it was fun!

Tuesday, February 3, 2015. February 3, 2015. Nothing too interesting tonight. I haven’t swam in about a week and a half. I did not feel very well either. So I just made it through my 3,000 yards. I swam it as two 1,500’s. I did have quite an adventure over the weekend. I got to spend the night at a yurt in the Uinta Mountains. It was about a two-mile hike up to the yurt. Then on Saturday we did a two-mile round trip to Lily Lake. It was a blast and I would love to do it again. Lower Body and Abs.
