weaving, london and crafty things: July 2009
http://heatherjaye.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Monday, 13 July 2009. Well that's me just finished exhibiting at New Designers. I had a really positive response from those who saw my work and really enjoyed talking to people about it. Many business cards were picked up so I'm hoping something may come from exhibiting? I can't wait to carry on designing so any commissions will be greatly received. as are any job offers or interviews! Think I may be chancing my luck there! But I did thouraghly enjoy the experience. weaving, london and crafty things: Wallace Sewell!
http://heatherjaye.blogspot.com/2009/09/wallace-sewell.html
Wednesday, 23 September 2009. Well thats me almost four months into my work placement with Wallace Sewell in London and I'm really loving it. The colours and textures that the designers Emma and Harriet create in their woven scarves and throws are so inspiring to me. If you haven't seen their work before check it out at www.wallacesewell.com or find us at week 2 of the Craft Council's 'Origin' show in Sommerset House. Glad to hear your doing so well and enjoying yourself! 1 November 2009 at 13:14.

weaving, london and crafty things: February 2009
http://heatherjaye.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, 15 February 2009. Have recently been thinking about the context of my fabric. I see them as fashion fabrics for womanswear. Varying the cloth set in a block structure. Floats and blocks in a Japanese silk and lambswool double cloth. Experiments with a cotton and lambswool double cloth. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Some good places to visit.

weaving, london and crafty things: The Show
http://heatherjaye.blogspot.com/2009/05/show.html
Friday, 29 May 2009. The degree show so far has been great. Our fashion show at the VIP opening went done really well. One of my woven lengths was worn draped as a skirt so I thought I'd add a wee picture as I'm really pleased with the way it looked. Erin o'Conner came and was really lovely, she even bought a jacket that one of my classmates had designed, was very exciting! Saw your work in the degree show today and loved it! Good luck for the future - hope it is filled with looms, yarns and cloth.

weaving, london and crafty things: paper shoes
http://heatherjaye.blogspot.com/2010/05/paper-shoes.html
Wednesday, 5 May 2010. I love these, they are just so intricately made. I know the notion of using recycling paper to create things isn't new but I do still find it really interesting everytime. The old stories of its previous use, the words in another context. The small scale just adds to the delicacy. You can buy them from her website as little pieces in a box or in a white frame for the wall which I think would look really lovely. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Here are my first attempts. Aw tubes and floats, aren't they fabulous! I've been working alot with blocks in my double cloth and trying to create irregular patterning that varies accross the sample. Here are just a few wee examples. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Some good places to visit.
