Foolin' Around in the Kitchen: April 2011
http://kitchenoops.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 18, 2011. We love decorating cookies around here. Although Christmas is the traditional time to do it, we always seem to be inundated with other baking projects around that time of year. So we find other times to decorate cookies. Usually Halloween cookies. Squeeze their way in. It's been a while since we've made Easter cookies. I forgot how colorful and beautiful they are! And here's the whole lot! Kim in the Kitchen. Foolin' Around in the Kitchen: Gingerbread Extravaganza
http://kitchenoops.blogspot.com/2010/12/gingerbread-extravaganza.html
Saturday, December 18, 2010. Brett's gingerbread house got a little more intense this year. Not only was it a house with two gables, which required a lot more engineering and calculation, but he also decided to add a second, rather large lighthouse. that actually lights up. Ambitious, yes. But when Brett puts his mind to something, there is no stopping him. Then construction began. I tried to help, but my poor hands were way too shaky. I was quickly relieved of my duties. The next night was for finishing...

Wednesday, October 29, 2008. About once a year rolled cookies find a way into our home. Sometimes it's Easter (I love decorating egg cookies,) but usually it's Halloween. We've had some really cute Halloween cookies in the past, and this year was no exception. We also have the rule that you can only eat cookies that you decorated.I'm down to 8! Kim in the Kitchen. Foolin' Around in the Kitchen: Homemade Potstickers
http://kitchenoops.blogspot.com/2011/01/homemade-potstickers.html
Saturday, January 29, 2011. A quick search on the Food Network's website gave us a recipe. And we set to work. We have honestly never bought Napa cabbage before. I actually had to ask the produce guy just to be sure I had the right thing! I chopped up an entire mixing bowl full! I also chopped up some green onion that we had on hand (instead of leeks), some garlic, and some ginger, and I grated a handful of baby carrots. In college, the method we used to cook potstickers was pour a little water in the fr...

The Tasty Memoir: A Case for Encased Meats at Hot Doug's: Chicago, IL
http://www.tastymemoir.com/2010/05/case-for-encased-meats-at-hot-doug_9906.html
Tuesday, May 4, 2010. A Case for Encased Meats at Hot Dougs: Chicago, IL. I had a free Southwest trip to use up before expiration and EHK accumulates quite a few SW free trips due to work travels so we decided on kind of a whim to visit Chicago a few weeks ago. We booked a lovely room overlooking the Magnificent Mile, at the Intercontinental Chicago which proved to be a very central location via Priceline. Well he said its kind of the magic time to go if we didn't want to wait in line for 1-2 hours?

http://www.tastymemoir.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 8, 2011. Shaved Asparagus Salad and Grilled Rack of Lamb. Its the beginning of October which brings to mind green leaves turning golden and amber, warm apple pie and colorful scarves to keep one warm. Well, its currently low-mid 70's in sunny San Diego. Not quite nippy weather that calls for cocoa and scarves ehh? So we decided to make shaved asparagus salad and grilled rack of lamb. 1/4 cup toasted marcona almonds. Juice of 1 lemon. Denoo Family Blog: Green Acres
http://denoofamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/green-acres.html
Monday, October 12, 2009. OK, I know it has been a while since I have blogged. Please forgive me! On Saturday we (Brian, Landon and I and Maw Maw) went to a place in Cary called Green Acres. It is known for its corn maze. When you first went in to the gate, there was a huge pile of sand with sand toys and Landon was immediately drawn to it. That is all he wanted to do. We finally talked him into venturing away from there and seeing what else they had to do. We had fun doing it anyway! View my complete pr...
