Thursday, October 27, 2011. Last night was my son's last soccer game. He earned the nickname "Wheels" by his coach. It is very fitting. Tonight Franchi and I took the girls for a little Halloween outing. A friend had told us about the Spooky Creatures Walk at the Bloedel Reserve. On Bainbridge Island. It's an event hosted by the West Sound Wildlife Shelter. To promote wildlife education through a walking tour with live animals at various stations. Monday, July 11, 2011. To pick strawberries. Green bluff is a cool area with a coop of farms. We go there to pick pumpkins, peaches, and now strawberries. We will keep our ears open for other fun foods that we can get fresh from the farms. The farm we ended up at this time was Knapp's. Once we were done picking, we stopped to get the big boy's a haircut. Jack's was growing out, and Sam decided he wanted to get a haircut like Jack's. He looks so much different to me. On some mornings in the northwest it makes more sense to eat a little cereal with my berries than a few berries with my cereal. Yum. I have had strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. I have eaten them fresh, made jam and preserves, and am now baking of them. On to it, then. 6 tablespoons butter (plus for greasing pan). 1 1/2 cups flour.
