Life in Africa. AND other places! Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Deer in the backyard. Eating the windfall apples! Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Monday, September 22, 2008. My 40th Surprise Birthday Party. I guessed that my mom and dad were coming up from Sussex, but I had NO idea that a bunch of neighbours, and relatives were going to show up! What a surprise when at 4PM (when I was just about to head upstairs for a nap) a whole group of people came in the door! Yes I was surprised and shocked! Subscribe...
Knightly News Update!: Update 2011
http://knightlyfamily.blogspot.com/2011/01/update-2011.html
Life in Africa. AND other places! Tuesday, January 18, 2011. After leaving Namibia in 2008 we had been thinking that we would return after a year. When we arrived back in Canada our children were all put back a year in school (much to our disappointment) and so it meant that it would be 2 years before Meagan would graduate rather than 1. In that 2 years it was decided that we would just remain in Canada until the boys finished school as well. However, we made it through and the day was a success! Well we...

Life in Africa. AND other places! Thursday, June 26, 2008. News from New Brunswick. Discernment, wisdom, guidance, etc! Once we have figured out this whole house thing we will pack our bags and head out on a road trip to the West! The area between Sault. To try and get some finances together to enable us to go back to Namibia with some of the necessary funds to be able to carry out the projects God has laid on our hearts. That is a lot to think about! More of the House. I "AM" as tired as I look. Then we...

Thursday, October 30, 2014. Taxis - The Gabon Edition. It’s that time again - time to describe how taxis work in our newest home. If you hadn't noticed yet, I’m pretty sure I’ve posted about taxis in each of the countries we’ve lived in so far. The reason - they are different everywhere! Example: Taxi stops. You say, “Trois cent, Mbolo” (price: 300 francs, destination: “Mbolo” - the big supermarket across from the French Institute where we have classes). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Isabella is now 2 months old. And finally I think I may have time to sit down and record a bit of background and the events of her coming into the world. Flash forward to November 18. She had been there for a week and was nearing the end of her stay – with a return flight on the 20. November. I think both of us were starting to get nervous that she might have to leave without greeting our little one. So what did we do? On our drive back to Okahandja (where we were staying) we m...

Tuesday, December 02, 2014. Foodie thoughts on Gabon. In each of the places we’ve lived we’ve picked up a number of things that have stayed with us long after we’ve moved - habits, ways of thinking, tastes for certain foods, recipes, even words from the language that seems to have replaced their English counterparts, and all of these things have woven themselves into the fabric of our lives. 8221; I said, “I do know how to make them, but what do you think they are? 8221;, which actually is exactly what t...

Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Alto Bimbi: A Long Overdue Photo Post. Monday, March 12, 2012. Part Four: The End of the Spear. After what I must confess was THE BEST SLEEP I have ever experienced on a camping trip, we awoke to the sounds of the sea and the golden light just beginning to peek out over the cliffs. As the sun spilled onto to sandy walls of the canyon, they radiated an orangy-red warmth that contrasted with the cool morning air. 8220;How were they? 8220;Are you going to try it? It was the goggles!
Life with Curly: I can't believe this is still here!

A chick with curly hair talks about stuff. Wow. Sunday, April 18, 2010. I can't believe this is still here! I signed in to my blogger account to join the Drink Green Smoothies page. Haha- I haven't posted on here in 3 years. Facebook really did take over. Right, well, for those of you who don't know me - don't bother with the last posts, they are way out of date. It is interesting reading my religious views as they have changed over the years. I am what you would call a liberal Anglican now. My Ritalin J...

Friday, October 03, 2014. It’s HUMID. We’re thankful to have arrived at the end of the “cool”, “dry” season, though really,. There's not going to be much change here on the Equator! The quote of the first weekend we were here, in my opinion, was our first saturday while we sat by the side of the road along the coast, drinking coconut water…out of the blue and in all seriousness someone exclaimed, “It’s quite chilly today”. I’m pretty sure both Sam and I laughed out loud. Well, we’ll see…. First impressio...

Tuesday, August 26, 2014. The countdown has begun. The problem is, I'm not sure at what number to begin the countdown! We have a reservation (not a booking) for a flight on Friday, but we still have no word about our immigration documents for Gabon. Yes, today is Tuesday. We wait, as I savour wearing a fleece on the chilly mornings and evenings while checking the forecast for Libreville and mentally preparing for THIS. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). He must INCREASE. http://unworthyami.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 25, 2014. Hmmmis it any wonder that I blogged most consistently in Russia? This will be my second move to a country I've never even visited before. Sam was accepted to a surgical residency program there, and when we got the word where we'd be going, honestly, I had to check the map to see exactly where on the continent it was. So not only have I never been there, but I really knew nothing about it, other than it's a French-speaking country. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Two guys duke it out over hot topics of disscussion. Wednesday, June 11, 2003. But again we are coming back to the issue of understanding: What is Courtship, and what is Dating? For the young man in the story we read ( Courtship and the Male Ego. Courtship meant going to a lady's father, asking for permission to see her, and then effectively dating her. Which of those two does the Bible say is the real Courtship? Which of those two does the Bible say is the real Dating? The Bible does say not to sin....

Life in Africa. AND other places! Tuesday, February 08, 2011. Winter. will it ever end? It’s February and the snow is falling from the sky. I’ve never been a big fan of winter, but this is really getting depressing. I wonder why everyone wanted to leave the comforts of Europe to settle in a land of endless winter? Variety IS indeed the spice of life! These are my thoughts for today… I have no idea if anyone even reads them, but that’s fine… it’s my journal of life as it ticks by! Tuesday, January 18, 2011.

Friday, September 10, 2010. Keeping an eye out for the naughtly little wart hogs on the sides of the highway. would not want one of them as a hood (or bonnet as they call it in Namibia) ornament. that is for sure! YAH 70km to Otjiwarongo. where they make the best PIZZA in the WORLD! I took the pictures of road signs for Meagan. she misses that every 10 km you get a new sign. making the trip go ON and ON and ON. actually we liked the updates. lessens the boredom. :).
