Arrive anytime after midday and settle in (lunch not provided - but beverages and snacks will be available to help yourself to all the weekend). Workshops start at 2pm - select which one at booking. Hearty Home Made Supper at Sheldon - substantial soups, homemade breads and local cheese. Pudding (with clotted cream). Get to know each other, show and tell. Workshops - Samhain/Hallowe'en Fibre Retreat

http://knitknack.weebly.com/workshops.html

Glorious colours from the classic dyestuffs. We will be dyeing yarn or fibre using cochineal, madder, logwood and indigo, we will also use a couple of gold and yellow dyes which can be over dyed to bright greens in the Indigo vat. Towards the end of the afternoon there will also be chance to over dye with the exhaust baths and use colour modifiers to further expand the range of colours. A more comprehensive list of what you will need to bring with you will be sent when you enrol for this workshop.).

Day tickets will be £45 for Friday (including supper at Sheldon - stay as late as you like! Fibre enthusiasts are also welcome to join us on Sunday for the craic and sunday lunch at a cost of £10. If you need to ...

addendum - Samhain/Hallowe'en Fibre Retreat

http://knitknack.weebly.com/addendum.html

I would like to acknowledge the inspiration of the inimitable Nickerjack. Who have organised SKIPNORTH. For the last FIVE years. If this weekend is anything like as good as SkipNorth, then I shall be pleased. Thankyou LIxie and Nic. If they do it again in 2011 then I'd thoroughly recommend signing up as soon as you hear about it. Feel like I ought to add something about the Samhain/Hallowe'en title as it seem to have struck a chord of dissonance with some fellow ravellers. For your further edification:.

When I wore it, people actually commented that it looked...
