KnitNut Natters

Monday, March 05, 2012. When I was 13, I had a run-in with my Art teacher. The assignment was simple, draw some shapes ( circles, rectangles, triangles), overlap a few and then paint them in 3 primary colours. Let's just say I failed. In hindsight I remember my piece to be extremely hideous, didn't follow the lines, splotches and smudges everywhere. Being a silly rebellious teenager, the only thing I took away from that lesson was that I was hopeless in art and never really tried again. Lately I have bee...

KnitNut Natters: July 2011

http://knitnut.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 05, 2011. A set on Flickr. It was a year ago and I have just finished processing and choosing the best ones this album. Tuesday, July 05, 2011. So It begins again. 18 months it took! 18 months and plenty of social media experimentation such as Ravelry, Twitter, Facebook and now Google . It's a lot of changes for little blogger me. I tried to microblog on Twitter and nothing beats the instant gratification of a reply or a mention not to mention the instant validation of the re-tweet.

KnitNut Natters: July 2009

http://knitnut.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 01, 2009. So not on the ball! I have been obsessing on the Clapotis. Just look at what Clapotis search results. On my blog. It's been a epic tale of stops and starts and looking for the right yarn. And yes I was complaining about the price of Lorna's Laces then. My My how things changed. Anyways I sucked it in and did me a nice little mini Clapotis using Handgefaebrt's. Merino Extra Fine in Night Elves. Here we go (warning! Wednesday, July 01, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

KnitNut Natters: Review: Lord of the Flies

http://knitnut.blogspot.com/2011/09/review-lord-of-flies.html

Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Review: Lord of the Flies. Lord of the Flies. My rating: 5 of 5 stars. I wrote a review for this book for an English exam in 6th form and received an A . It was read out in class! Wish I had that review now. I remember it to be profoundly disturbing. This book was my first introduction to English literature as a subject, where I learnt to look at language, themes, alliteration, and a big word called "Onomatopoeia". Awesome memories.). International postage at US1.50 per ball or US 5.00 for the lot. I am in Malaysia so I can only accept Paypal (credit cards accepted).

Helen's Crafterly Things: January 2007

http://helen-leong.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 13, 2007. The picture I took of her made her look like a walking zombie. Now I am onto new knitwear for Michelle. I told her I bought some yarns and I am going to knit a few blouses for her. She was so excited and kept asking me to take photos of the yarns and blog quickly. I can't show you the pattern for the yellow blouse yet .I only started with a few rows and I am finding it a bit difficult. Let me overcome the problem and I will show you later. Posted by Helen @ 10:38 pm. These two...

Lenscaped: Random conversations around the office

http://lenscaped.blogspot.com/2006/05/random-conversations-around-office.html

Sometimes the lens captures what the eye sees, sometimes what the heart remembers. Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Random conversations around the office. Amber Chia, the darling of the Malaysian modeling scene is about to skydive at the Malaysia Skydive 2006 showcase in July. What happens if she freezes? RL suggests a follow up headline . My Da Vinci Code review is up. Lighten up, it’s OK … just OK. I had confessed to RL earlier that I was intimidated by DA's review Brake the Code. Land below the wind.

Sometimes the lens captures what the eye sees, sometimes what the heart remembers. Friday, June 30, 2006. Gregory's first piano lesson. He's getting so big! Here's a little clip of Gregory playing the piano with Granny. Links to this post. Friday, June 09, 2006. Cameron Highland - Bungalow Blues. After the advent of Google I finally found out that the boarding school she was talking about was now Bala's Chalet. It used to be the Tanglin School for expatriate children. Check out its history here. Unfortun...

Lenscaped: Land below the wind

http://lenscaped.blogspot.com/2006/05/land-below-wind.html

Sometimes the lens captures what the eye sees, sometimes what the heart remembers. Friday, May 26, 2006. Land below the wind. I'm off to Cameron Highlands this weekend to pursue my passion of photographing old houses. Meanwhile I'll leave you with a video I took in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We were walking down Tanjung Aru beach to pass the time before departure when we happened to catch a dance troupe at their rehearsals. I think Sabahan dance is much faster by far. Lenscaped: I know I know!

http://lenscaped.blogspot.com/2009/01/i-know-i-know.html

Sometimes the lens captures what the eye sees, sometimes what the heart remembers. Saturday, January 03, 2009. I know I know! Yes it has been an age and a half since I updated this blog. I've almost forgotten what blogger looks like. But as usual the impetus to write only begins when one has something to say. And now I have something to say with Pictures. Two years ago I posted about the Moonlight Bungalow. Moonlight is now for sale. The view as you walk up the driveway. Staircase to the Upper level.

http://laceswap.blogspot.com/2006/09/few-more-parcels.html

Whose lace is it anyway? Have you ever had a surprise parcel, and when you opened it, the contents were supplies to make something lacy and the sender mysterious? Well, no, neither have we. But it would be fun, wouldn't it? So we decided to get together and host a mysterious lace swap, where you get to spoil someone with the makings of a beautiful lacy project, and receive one of your own to boot. Breaking the radio silence. | the slow stitcher

https://theslowstitcher.wordpress.com/2009/04/28/breaking-the-radio-silence

Breaking the radio silence. Well, last week was a crazy week in the Wee household. DH came down with what was first suspected as a bacterial infection, which was subsequently rediagnosed as viral fever, which was subbsequently termed “mild dengue fever”. He’s on the mend, but it’ll be some time yet before he’s back to his normal active self. And here’s how far I got:. I like the peacock! Hes missing his neck, though. I made some headway last night while watching Prison Break Season 4. Laquo; Still Waters...

Knitting it all together

Knitting it all together. Knitting, books and movies, etc. Thursday, December 04, 2014. Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. November by the numbers:. I finished book 52 of my book-a-week-in-2014 reading challenge. I'm still reading and will probably count at least three more before the new year. The last was Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. A tear-jerker of a novel. It was one of 15 books to get a five-star rating from me this year. Of those, my favorite was a classic, Wilkie Collins' The Woman in White. And I ...

knit 'n tink

Knit ‘n tink. September 25, 2007. I missed my invitation from Ravelry when I was on holiday but luckily my nickname was still available when I joined last week. I haven’t added much projects and stash but I really enjoy looking what all of you are knitting. It is really great you can just type in a yarn or a pattern and go on for hours and hours…. Bye the way I’m over there as kaita. September 24, 2007. Yes that’s me (just for scaling). Sometimes the coast path looks more like a hiking highway. I haven&#...

Knit Nude

Friday, January 14, 2011. Now just because this blog has 'knit' in the name, don't think I don't love EVERYTHING involving yarn. Crochet was my first love, and though most things I make now are knitted, it will always have a place in my heart. This was the first scarf I made, and it was a magic transforming scarf! I'm never quite sure what to do with shawls, apart from being naked in them. Though I suppose that's be good enough? And a bikini top! That's all for now! Tuesday, December 14, 2010.
