Skip to primary content. July 1, 2012. On the right the scarf for my Mum’s birthday, knitted from the yarn I bought at the flax market a few weeks ago. This scarf is going to be long, since I wasn’t quite sure about the yardage and so made it quite narrow. Click to email (Opens in new window). Click to print (Opens in new window). Craft Immersion | Knitosphere
https://knitosphere.wordpress.com/2012/06/02/craft-immersion
Skip to primary content. June 2, 2012. Last weekend was Whitsuntide, so off to the craft’s market my Mum and I went. Apart from almost sneezing my nose off because of my hay fever, I really enjoyed the day. I had the feeling that the fiber arts are getting represented more and more. The first year I went (two years ago), there was only one really good yarn booth, while this time there were at least three. Obviously I’m hoping this is a trend that’ll continue. This slideshow requires JavaScript. And has Z...
Adventures in spinning | Knitosphere
https://knitosphere.wordpress.com/2012/06/03/adventures-in-spinning
Skip to primary content. June 3, 2012. So, I decided to do something about my spinning style. I usually create 3-ply fingering weight yarn that still retains some of the harshness of the overtwisted singles. And I want to create softer, loftier yarn. I can’t imagine spinning woolen, but there must be a way to create softer yarn than I do at the moment. The plies are a still slightly uneven laceweight, but for now I’m only aiming for softness. And this goes so quickly! Click to email (Opens in new window).

Skip to primary content. Book Review: Kelly Flynn Knitting Mysteries by Maggie Sefton. June 10, 2012. So, even though I feel like I’m the last one to the parties of knitting mysteries, I’m sure there are some who are even later 🙂 and who might like to hear about the mystery series I’ve been consuming like a maniac. The series is the Kelly Flynn mystery series. The main character is 28-year-old Kelly Flynn who arrives in her Aunt Helen’s hometown in the Mid-West (where she used to spend her summers...
My Patterns | Knitosphere

Skip to primary content. This scarf/stole was inspired by the rustic, handspun yarn it’s knit in. It’s knit on a bias, with a simple lace pattern to show off the subtle colors of the handspun, but would also work very well for handpainted yarn or yarn with long color repeats. Can be used for a wide range of different gauges and yarn amounts. Click for more information. Click to email (Opens in new window). Click to print (Opens in new window). Knitting in Granny Land: Hello and Goodbye<$BlogMetaData$>
http://knittingingrannyland.blogspot.com/2012/04/hello-and-goodbye.html
Saturday, April 14, 2012. Six years sure is a long time. Just see my second post on this blog about "loving to knit with cotton" - now? Not so much. Not at all, actually. I avoid knitting with it at pretty much any cost, although I still like it for crocheting and probably would for weaving (yes, a new interest has been awakened, but not yet consummated :) . To cut a long story short: You can know find me on Wordpress, where I'm going by Knitosphere. First new post is up and I'd love to see you there!

The jumbled thoughts of a knitting and stitching boomer. Sunday, June 14, 2015. Miss Lauren graduated from Beloit College in Beloit Wisconsin on May 17,20015! We couldn't be more proud of her! Bob and I were there! David and Marcia joined us. Sarah joined us, too. It was a great ceremony and the weather was quite nice. Then a wine reception at the geology department. It was a lovely and busy evening. We drove her packed car home following graduation on Sunday. And, POOF! Its such an exciting time! So I w...

Sunday, February 10, 2013. Perfectionism as a Gift? I'll just say it. Perfectionism is kicking me in the butt this semester. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. I wish I could tell my 10-year-old self thanks for reading that over and over. These 27 words (did I count right? The truth right now is that perfectionism is a thousand-ton boulder that's not going to budge. So there's no point in tryi...
Knitosaurus Rex
I knit a lot. You read about it. The end. Monday, June 27, 2005. Hmm Much Ado About Everything. It's been a while, eh? To tell the truth, I considered not blogging anymore, but I just couldn't resist. Here is an old picture of what the Scoop du Jour twins look like. Since this picture, I have done some more on those backs. Will I ever finish these sweaters? I won't ever finish them if I get distracted. Too late. Here's the first one that I am making for one of her nieces:. And this is my gorgeous sister:.

Making friendly goods with those teeny tiny arms. December 28, 2009 in Uncategorized. She is 8 and likes “chapter books” so she can read fairly well and understand the processes if they are explained in a rudimentary fashion. Her mom doesn’t knit, but can help her read if words are confusing. Interwebs to the rescue, I hope! December 14, 2009 in sewing. First up is Heyday. Clothing’s Swing Trousers. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Pattern Release: Rustik is here! July 7, 2012. In the midst of moving madness – seriously, I spent most of today packing yarn and knitting books and have 8 boxes already filled…and more just keeps popping up! I don’t even want to think about packing all my books. Times like these I actually contemplate doing a Fleinhardt* and just getting rid of everything (except the yarn, obviously :D)… anyway – the Rustik Scarf. Pattern is finally up on Ravelry!

Knit Out & About
Knit Out and About. My knitting and family life. Wednesday, 7 December 2011. The ladies all came round to mine on Saturday night for some cocktails and some top baked goods by yours truly (even if I do say so myself). Recipes are found in this fab book. And the night itself was inspired from this lovely book. Tuesday, 22 November 2011. A stroll by the Lancaster Canal. It was a nice crisp Autumnal day, so myself, Sal and the boys decided to go for a walk. Sunday, 16 October 2011. Saturday, 20 August 2011.
Knitting Outside the Lines
Knitting Outside the Lines. Monday, January 29, 2018. I'm a self-taught knitter and knitwear designer. When I was 24, I had my first opportunity to serve on a jury. We were empaneled for 2 weeks. During that time, I came to deeply appreciate the American justice system. The woman sitting next to me, in addition to performing her civic duty, also knit a vest. That book had a profound effect on me. I started knitting, worked the easy projects in the book, and branched out to other easy patterns. I discover...
Knit out loud
Guess Who’s Back? December 1, 2015. Again, I know its been forever. Wow. 8 months. Crazy. Well, on the knitting front its not going well. I’ve started new projects, ripped out old ones and I still don’t want to knit. I’ll sometimes walk past my yarn cabinet and look at my yarn. I sometimes want to knit but I just don’t have the ambition to. I guess that’s what has kept me away from here. I feel like I have to write about knitting but I really have nothing to say about it. Stuck in a Knitting Funk. I have...
