In the Long Run, We Should All Knit: July 2009

http://longrunknitter.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. I realised recently that some of my favorite skirts are getting a bit ragged. The weather has been so bad most of the summer that I hadn't started wearing skirts most days until the past week or so. I thought this was a perfect time to try out a new book I recently got, Sew What! Plus, and this was super exciting for me, I learned to use my serger! Posted by Gloria Quincy. Links to this post. In the Long Run, We Should All Knit: Movie Review: Taken

http://longrunknitter.blogspot.com/2009/07/movie-review-taken.html

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit. Monday, July 20, 2009. There is nothing special about this movie. The action sequences are tight, but not groundbreaking; Neeson's performance is solid but not astonishing. However, at only 1.5 hours long, it doesn't wear out it's welcome, and it is clear that it doesn't have delusions of grandeur. Posted by Gloria Quincy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). In the Long Run, We Should All Knit: Green Day at the TD Banknorth Garden, 20 July 2009

http://longrunknitter.blogspot.com/2009/07/green-day-at-td-banknorth-garden-20.html

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit. Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Green Day at the TD Banknorth Garden, 20 July 2009. Plus, The Bravery was also impressive, with the lead singer really delivering melodic, energized vocals. He did have a weird habit of sitting down on the stage or facing backwards while singing, which looked odd on an arena stage. But it made me want to buy an album by them, regardless. I'll check out their itunes offerings tonight. The Boston Globe review is here. Posted by Gloria Quincy.

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit: Taylor's Mitts: Finished!

http://longrunknitter.blogspot.com/2007/09/taylors-mitts-finished.html

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit. Sunday, September 23, 2007. I'm quite happy with the result, and I can't wait to see them on Taylor. Hopefully she will have some pictures from the Saratoga reenactment with her wearing them. For now, I have included photos of me wearing them with one of my regency dresses (sadly, I don't have a proper 18th century outfit to really show these off, but mitts similar to these were also worn during the early 19th century). ETA: And now I have pics of them on Taylor!

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit: Red Sweater: Finished

http://longrunknitter.blogspot.com/2006/09/red-sweater-finished.html

In the Long Run, We Should All Knit. Wednesday, September 13, 2006. That's all, folks! I would probably make some more modifications if I were to do this again, but it was a positive experience overall. Yarn: 10.5 balls Knitpicks Mainline. Pattern: My own (top-down raglan). Needles: US 8 (Denise interchangables, then dpns for the sleeves). As I have mentioned before, this was supposed to be the Something Red sweater from Knit and Tonic, but after a running out of yarn fiasco, I switched gears to this.

Ramblings on knitting, mothering, learning, writing, and rural living. Wednesday, April 10, 2013. The time has come to say goodbye to my blog. Part of me is sad and a bit nostalgic but more than anything I'm excited. This blog started as one thing and ended up something quite different than the original intention. It's time to start fresh. Naomi knits at work, at home, at church. Pairs of socks knitted in 2014. Monday, January 18, 2016. It was a good year, even though I forgot to post anything on the blog. This year, I'm trying to get back in the habit of writing. Mimi started 2nd grade, then promptly told me "Mama, it's really embarrassing when you tell stories about me." So even though she's so cute it's hard not to gush, I probably won't be commenting on her doings as much. He's seen the writing on the wall and decided he'd rather run t...
