Knitting With Five Needles. Friday, June 3, 2011. FO Friday: Toe-Up Socks! I finally finished my toe-up socks! They go halfway up my calf, which I've decided is a little too high for comfort on me). The stitch pattern is called Laburnum, which my google-fu tells me is a kind of tree that grows chains of yellow flowers - sounds pretty, and I can see the chain in my pattern). Knitting With Five Needles: Technique Tuesday: Tweed

http://www.knittingwithdpns.blogspot.com/2011/05/technique-tuesday-tweed.html

Knitting With Five Needles. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. I'm on square seventeen of my Barbara Walker Learn to Knit Afghan. Tweed. This is pretty cool. I would slip the stitch, holding the yarn on the wrong side of the square (so as to keep it from showing). But for tweed, I slip the stitch on the right side of the square, leading to little strands of the yarn showing:. Sorry the picture is so dark - I need to remember that I actually have a camera, and use it, as opposed to only taking cell phone pics).

Knitting With Five Needles: FO Friday: Cute little kitty toys

http://www.knittingwithdpns.blogspot.com/2011/05/fo-friday-cute-little-kitty-toys.html

Knitting With Five Needles. Friday, May 27, 2011. FO Friday: Cute little kitty toys. Last weekend, I pulled out a ball (well, skein. well, giant thingie) of mystery yarn that I had lost the label to and made three mousies for my three cats. So, that times three - I wanted to get a picture of all three of them together, but the kitties went crazy over them and the first two were covered in cat fur and saliva by the time I finished the third). I found the pattern on Ravelry, and it is right here.

Knitting With Five Needles: October 2010

http://www.knittingwithdpns.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Knitting With Five Needles. Monday, October 4, 2010. Double Rainbow All The Way! I forgot in my last entry to write about a little knitting project I did in September: a soap bag for my sister Kelly! Also, I neglected to post a picture of my eighth Barbara Walker square: Rose stitch:. I kind of love it, even though I wouldn't generally put those two colors together on a project. I also finished up two projects this weekend that have been on the needles:. I really like how this turned out! Double Rainbow ...

Knitting With Five Needles: February 2011

http://www.knittingwithdpns.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Knitting With Five Needles. Monday, February 28, 2011. I have always found crafting to be soothing. When I was very young (i.e. middle school) I used to do cross-stitch. Not a lot of it, as I always got bored about halfway through (this was before I discovered how to craft WHILE watching TV or listening to podcasts or audiobooks - audiobooks, especially, are a crafter's DREAM). Then, in high school, I took a quilting class, and it was so much fun! And now, I knit. A lot. Mostly, I am drawn to the artisti...

Knitting With Five Needles: December 2010

http://www.knittingwithdpns.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Knitting With Five Needles. Monday, December 27, 2010. Musing Monday: Summing up 2010. Let me see. Last year, I made four resolutions for 2010:. 1 Update this blog once a month (that seems doable, right? 2 Start and finish two pairs of socks. 3 Finish at least half the squares on my Barbara Walker Learn-to-Knit Afghan. 4 Finish all other cast on projects (which right now includes a lace headband, a condo stitch scarf, and two pairs of socks). And five hats. I have also started another scarf, which wi...

Cats Yarn. Life. What you’re trying to do with any beading method (other than pre-stringing your yarn with beads) is to somehow get a loop of yarn (your stitch) through your bead. And while you could. Just poke your stitch at the bead and hope it goes through, it will take you a very, very long time, assuming you have the eyesight and coordination to want to try it in the first place (I don’t). Or you can use thread (or dental floss) to pull a stitch through a bead…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are c...
