Sticks and Thread: le sigh
http://sticksandthread.blogspot.com/2007/09/le-sigh.html
Wednesday, September 05, 2007. I've finished/started a bunch of things and just don't seem to have the energy to blog about them. I've even finished some things I never told you about. Well, you'll just have to wait a little longer, because I've got the end of summer blahs. Hope your move goes well, and your spirits pick up. I'll be here waiting to see your wonderful FO's! Good luck with the move! Thought I should return the favor and leave you a comment! Hey, how did you find me anyway?

Sticks and Thread: Learning new things
http://sticksandthread.blogspot.com/2007/08/hooks-and-wire.html
Friday, August 03, 2007. The summer of Rachel. I made some jewelry! Then it was time for some semi-instant gratification:. I taught myself crochet! Well, Debbie Stoller and interweave crochet taught me. I had absolutely no interest in crossing over to the other side of fiber arts until I saw this. The Babette Blanket. And it was like the clouds had parted and angel voices were singing from the heavens. I had to have it. (If you're still not convinced, check out these bad boys. I think I sounded a little ...

Sticks and Thread: A series of procrastinations
http://sticksandthread.blogspot.com/2007/05/series-of-procrastinations.html
Thursday, May 03, 2007. A series of procrastinations. Not even excitement about the VK cabled turtleneck potentially being far and away the best sweater I've ever made for myself can induce me to finish the seaming. What is it with seaming? Why is it so horrible? And why did just half of it take me the better part of a Saturday to do? The other good news is that procrastinating the seaming induced me to finish these:. Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Forest, less than 2 skeins. I hate seaming too....

http://sticksandthread.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Young lady, do you have any idea what time it is? I've been away so long I couldn't remember how to sign in to my blogger account. Funny, because I've certainly been reading tons of blogs, but apparently I haven't left any comments in the last five months either. I miss you, blog. I miss you, blog readers, if any of you are still out there! So this re-entry will be photoless. I've been doing so much writing. To come" is abbreviated TK (I guess for "to kome"? Sticks and Thread: March 2008
http://sticksandthread.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. I hinted at the question to which the answer is, about 15 inches. This is a question that has been haunting me for a while:. How much basic sock can you get out of your average amount of sock yarn? So, I set out to knit a pair of toe-up stockinette socks with 1 skein each of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock, and I knit until I couldna knit nae more (that's my fake scottish for ya). Pattern: Basically following Ann Budd's On your Toes socks from IK Summer 2007. Needles: US 1.5 DPNs.

A Knit's Tale: Instant Gratification
http://knittale.blogspot.com/2006/07/instant-gratification.html
A week spent with nary a stitch knit but lots of knitting related reading inevitably results in a serious case of Startitis. By Saturday, my arm felt fine and while I was dying to knitting something, I didn’t feel like working on any of the projects I had on the needles. To stave off starting yet another long-term needle hog, I picked up Weekend Knitting. As inspired by Areli. And churned out some petals. A few more hours of cotton chenille manipulation while chuckling to Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me. You k...

Antics with the menagerie: How did it happen?
http://jerrysmenagerie.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-did-it-happen.html
Antics with the menagerie. Musings on time spent with three four-legged animals, fibers, wooden and metal sticks, and books in a Shaker building on a mountainside. Friday, October 13, 2006. How did it happen? The incident is so vivid in my memory, I didn't think to explain how it happened or that it wouldn't be apparent to my readers. Rachel. Pointed this out, so let me clarify:. My home, the sheep, the pasture, the pond, the barn, and the leaky rowboat are owned by my employer. You can imagine the p...
