Thursday, May 5, 2011. My sweet Brendan is nine today! What a handsome and intelligent young man he has become. I feel so privileged to be his mother. Brendan still loves legos and reading, as always. He has devoured nearly every book in our house and we thought it best to purchase lots of new reading material for birthday gifts this year. He opened a brand new book this morning at breakfast and was so excited that he started reading it immediately and then packed it in his bag for school.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011. It's so fun to see each child growing up. school portraits have a way of making children seem older. I marvel that I have three school aged children. I marvel at how beautiful they are. I marvel at how each of their spirits is developing so well and how they've each learned so much. What an extraordinary blessing to be a parent. Friday, October 21, 2011. Really just yesterday James entered the world with his handsome cap of dark hair and big kind eyes. He is quite large for his ripe age of 8 months, crawls everywhere, pulls to standing, and laughs or giggles at his siblings especially. They lovingly refer to him as Jamers, with Caleb close behind, uttering his take on the nickname, which sounds more like "dame-ohs" (adorable). Sometimes I just can't stop squeezing and kissing this little. I mean big. precious guy.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011. We recently attended Kooper's first home meet as a pole vaulter! We were very proud of him and he worked hard this season. At the home meet he cleared the beginning standard height of 8 feet after only a few weeks of practice. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. I was greeted by lots of rain and misty weather. It was so refreshing. Just love the northwest. Here’s the view on our ferry out to dad’s house on Whidbey Island. With Dad Tommie on the ferry. Love these two! Dad’s land has come such a long way since they first purchased it. It used to be a huge thicket of overgrown trees and weeds and now it’s looking so beautiful. They have tons of deer too. So grateful for him in my life. Made him some raspberry pancakes for breakfast.
