Wednesday, 6 May 2015. We have been learning about calculating money, Cost and change, value and prices of items. The learners have the opportunity to work with real money (coins) in the class. We are planning to start a “little play shop” in the class where the learners will sell marked items (empty containers with prices) to improve their money skills. Tuesday, 28 April 2015. 10 s and units. Doing group work on the mat to improve their number concept of tens and units, involves a lot of concentration. We also started adding 2 digit numbers together which we call “step sums”. The importance of breaking up numbers have been emphasized. Thursday, 23 April 2015. Some pics from our dotted art lesson. Monday, 3 August 2015. Plays on Bullying (Pictures, Videos to follow). During the last few weeks of term we started looking at bullying. We had discussions with the children about what they think about bullying and the results were quite uplifting. Then we gave them scripts which had a scenario of bullying that could happen quite often, and the two different ways to deal with the bullying.
