Bon Voyage!

Monday, June 29, 2009. Susie, Jen, Laura, and I came to New Orleans yesterday for SHRM. I have been here once before but it was quite awhile ago and involved my family and 2 SUVs. Pulling pop-up campers. Probably not a typical New Orleans experience! We are staying in the Royal Sonesta. Street. The hotel is gorgeous! Beautiful chandeliers, antique tv. It's really a terrible place on Bourbon street. I would advise anyone traveling through here to avoid it. Only 5 menu options but the beignets. Floatation ...

Bon Voyage!: June 2007

http://www.kristentravels.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 30, 2007. I love this town. I had a really nice evening there Wednesday on Pearl Street. This street dates back to the early 1900's and is very "cool" place to be on a summer evening. It's really close to a college so there are lots of young people around. I saw a string trio, a. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Warning to United Airlines Passengers. Your flight just might be delayed! Bon Voyage!: November 2007

http://www.kristentravels.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 26, 2007. Friday, November 16, 2007. This week I traveled to Boston for the ASHA. Convention. I was caught off guard during the landing process as it looked as though were were going to literally land ON THE WATER! I was wondering if we had those airboat. Floatation devices when suddenly we crossed onto solid ground and came to a stop. It's quite an experience. I've also had some great food while here. :). For some internal warmth before heading back to my hotel after dinner.

Bon Voyage!: Warning to United Airlines Passengers

http://www.kristentravels.blogspot.com/2007/06/warning-to-united-airlines-passengers.html

Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Warning to United Airlines Passengers. Your flight just might be delayed! It's only for 30 min so far, so that's alright. But I did find it somewhat disturbing that out of the 7 United flights on the departure board this morning FIVE were either delayed or canceled. This is not a good trend! WowI can't believe you're delayed again! I hope you're in the air right now! June 27, 2007 at 5:50 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Warning to United Airlines Passengers.

Chez Kristen: A Tale of Two Kings

http://oceanbreeze56.blogspot.com/2011/12/tale-of-two-kings.html

Saturday, December 03, 2011. A Tale of Two Kings. This morning I listed to a sermon about pride. King Saul and David were both mentioned as examples. (Stories in First Samuel 13 and 2 Samuel 11-12). What I find interesting is what happened next. King Saul doesn't appear to repent but instead continue further in the path of pride and eventually takes his own life and David takes his place as king. I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever." Psalms 52:8b. What can we learn from this? A Tale of Two ...

Chez Kristen: Judgement Day

http://oceanbreeze56.blogspot.com/2011/05/judgement-day.html

Saturday, May 21, 2011. I woke up this morning to the same world that was here when I fell asleep. I checked Facebook to see if anything unique had happened in another country and was greeted with a post that said something like, "It seems the end of the world is not today.". I turned to my husband and said "Oh good, looks like the world isn't ending." Instantly I regretted my words. But even as I find amusement in the sarcasm, I also feel my heart fighting against the laughter. View my complete profile.

Chez Kristen: January 2011

http://oceanbreeze56.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 08, 2011. As a Christian I have a lot of knowledge in my head about joy. And I understand many true reasons why we should have joy. We've been saved, redeemed! If God is for us, who can be against us! Jesus has prepared a place for us and is coming back one day to take us home- to a place filled with such joy- our minds can only dimly comprehend how beautiful our new home will be. Jesus loves me, this I know. How do you connect your mind with your heart? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Chez Kristen

http://oceanbreeze56.blogspot.com/2013/02/today-i-was-reminded-of-something.html

Friday, February 08, 2013. Today I was reminded of something. I was reminded that's its normal to feel. That a part of being human is having emotions. And a part of having emotions is realizing that different days can bring out different feelings. I think that as Christians once you reach a certain level of adulthood, it can be easy to feel like we are supposed to be joyful and peaceful at all times. So any negative deviation from this can be stressful and frustrating. What's wrong with me? Also, interes...

Chez Kristen: December 2010

http://oceanbreeze56.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 31, 2010. Thoughts for the new year. I can hardly believe we've reached the end of 2010. I probably say this every year, and every year it seems true. Time continues to flow on- days turn to weeks, weeks to months, and months to years. This year I will turn 30. This doesn't seem possible. Yet when I think back on my travels, and time with family and friends, it does seem possible. I'm very grateful for the wonderful memories I've made and hope for many more! Kristen Travels There

My name is Kristen. My four true loves in life are traveling, a great deal, a great beer, and a great adventure. Traveling the world has transformed my perception of reality. I now know that reality is culturally subjective and that my way is not the way . Globetrotting has showed me how to live on a dime and that all we truly need to survive is food, water, shelter, love, beer, and a good back pack. I invite you to join me in exploring all this sweet world has to offer, without breaking the bank!
