California 2009

June 30 - Heading Home. Time to head home, we had a wonderful vacation. The weather has been fantastic.it was a lot of fun to spend so much time outside. It really is beautiful in California. No wonder so many people live there. I did the last minute packing and we left for the airport early. It took us a little longer to go through security so we were glad we had plenty of time. They went through all of our carry on…what a pain. They couldn’t have left us in the terminal while they did that? The sun had...

http://www.kyle-wedding0.blogspot.com/2009/08/june-29-last-day-in-sf.html

June 29 - Last Day in San Francisco. We woke up to another beautiful day. We mapped out our route by bus to the California Academy of Science. In Golden Gate Park. We really enjoyed riding the public transportation, and it was very convenient. By the time we got to the museum it was a little overcast, good morning to be inside. We enjoyed the museum and the planetarium. The building has a living roof. California Academy of Science. Living roof on the CAS building. Stonefish at the CAS aquarium. June 20 -...

June 27 - San Francisco. We rode the cable car to Market Street. And walked around. They were setting up for Pride Weekend…how lucky could we be. LOL. View from the cable car. San Francisco Cable Car. We caught the cable car to Fishermen's Wharf. Fresh crab at Fishermen's Wharf. We spent the afternoon on Pier 39. There were lots of seals at Pier 39. Wonerful view of San Francisco from Pier 41. It was a good choice. Our waiter was very friendly and the food was good. Took pictures and walked down and back...

California 2009: June 23 - Carmel

http://www.kyle-wedding0.blogspot.com/2009/08/june-23-carmel.html

June 23 - Carmel. We headed for Carmel. Today along the PCH, it was foggy so the sites weren’t as pretty. We went though the visitor center at the Hurst Castle, but we weren't interested in spending the time it would take to go through the house. Our next stop was at Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery. There were hundreds of seals on the beach and I enjoyed seeing them, but they smelled horrible. I had to stay upwind to take pictures. Elephant Seals at Piedras Blancas. For dinner. It's a small Med...

California 2009: June 28 - San Francisco

http://www.kyle-wedding0.blogspot.com/2009/08/june-28-san-francisco.html

June 28 - San Francisco. We decided to go to the Ferry Building. This morning. We met a very nice girl on the bus, who gave us some good advice about restaurants in the area. It has been fun visiting with locals and getting their advice. We were trying to stay away from the Pride Parade that was going on, but ended up right at the start of it! We watched the Dykes on Bikes and some of the parade for awhile, it was wild. People can get away with anything here. Looking west from Coit Tower. June 27 - San F...

Seattle and Canada: July 13, 2001 - Seattle

http://canada2001-susie.blogspot.com/2009/09/july-13-2001-seattle.html

July 13, 2001. July 13, 2001 - Seattle. We took the 10:30 ferry to Port Angeles Washington. So our car had to be in line at right after the 6:00 ferry left. Stan took the car over and put it in line, then came back to the room. It is a little cool this morning. The ride on the ferry was a lot rougher than our trip earlier in the week. We drove down the coast of Washington to a little town called Kingston. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). July 13, 2001 - Seattle. July 12, 2001 - Victoria.

25th Anniversary Trip to Maui. July 5, 2006 - Travel Day. The flight to Maui wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. We arrived about 30 minutes earlier than expected…that was nice. The airport was kind of neat, open air walkways. I guess in Hawaii you don’t need much air conditioning. We rented a car from Word of Mouth Car Rental. We called them when we got our luggage and they picked us up. They were very friendly and easy to deal with. No lines! We went to Penne Pasta. The beach was not the best for s...

25th Anniversary Trip to Maui. July 14, 2006 - Farewell Paradise. Our trip is over. Hard to believe it went so fast. We arrived in Houston around 2:00 PM. The flight home was easy, it went by quicker than I expected. Now we are back to the real world….but I have plenty of pictures to remind me of our time in paradise. We slept in a little and then packed up and headed towards Haleakala. We drove up Lahainaluna Road for a view of the town before we left. What a drive to Haleakala, sea level to 10,000 feet in less than 2 hours! View of the Big Island from Haleakala. We drove down through Makawoa and Haiku, stopped and had a picnic lunch watching the windsurfers at Hookipa Beach.

Newport, RI: September 20 – Going Home

http://newport2009-susie.blogspot.com/2009/09/september-20-going-home.html

September 15-20, 2009. September 20 – Going Home. We enjoyed our last breakfast at the inn. Portuguese sweet bread French toast, sausage, muffins, mixed fruit, juice and coffee. I think I will miss having breakfast ready for me each morning. It was easy to get spoiled. We did a little last minute packing and left for the airport. Our flights (Providence to Orlando and then Houston) were on time and very smooth. No last minute troubles this time. Final look at Newport - Bannister's Wharf.

September 15-20, 2009. September 18 – Boat Show. Another wonderful breakfast started our day. This morning it was raspberry peach pancakes, sausage, orange bread, honeydew melon and blueberries, juice and coffee. We spent time later in the day walking through the old colonial part of town. We went to the White Horse Tavern. For a beer and clam chowder. It is the oldest tavern in the Untied States…built in 1673. Just think of all the people who have been through the doors and had a beer there. The survey ...

It’s hard to believe we’ve been home for two months…time has flown by. We’ve been busy with boat projects, house chores and catching up with our family. We’ve gotten to spend a lot of time with our grandwonder, which is the best part of being home. Next step was to lay out the floor and cut tiles to fit. Location: Rockport, TX.

Where You Go I'll Go

Where You Go I'll Go. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Another Summer, Another Internship. Last summer God changed my life forever with letting me go to Turkana, Kenya. I was able to grow spiritually and my eyes were opened to a great need in the world. I was already passionate about the water crisis and how the lack of clean drinking water affects the world and individual people. This has transitioned me to get involved in another way. Have the mind of Christ- do not get down, but focus on the mission of the Gospel.
